Combining Promotional Codes Given Out Due to Delayed Flights

Hi,

United is going a bit crazy. Now I received some promotional codes for a long delayed flights.

My question is that they are for $125 here, $200 there etc. (I traveled with my family). Rather than redeem the five promotional codes for five different flights, can I some how combine them to purchase one expensive flight? It doesn't seem possible via united.com, but I thought I would ask your collective wisdom.

Thanks.

You may have a slim chance of luck if you email 1K Voice with the ecert numbers and ask them to be swapped out for a $325 ecert. If they say no, keep it moving and use them separately.

I asked a few weeks ago via email and they refused. Good luck!

This is the reason I always ask for Miles rather than certs, miles combine.

Good point. But don't you get miles for the travel made with certs? Also it was $250 or 10,000 miles. 10,000 miles will get you not even half an award, but $250 will get you a round trip albeit only on a popular route.

Thanks.

Can't the web desk apply multiple certs to a reservation? PMUA could...

And $250 can get you a cheap t-con, where as a 1K, one would earn 10,000 miles.

If you read the standard "Apology" E-Cert T&C it says:

16. Combinability: Not combinable with other discount offers
17. Maximum number of users per certificate: One
18. Maximum number of passengers per itinerary: One
#16 means that you cannot use more than 1 e-cert per ticket
#18 says that it must be a solo itinerary
#17 seems redundant but re-inforces #18

Another annoying quirk that I recently discovered is:

10. Valid Routing: Roundtrip or One way only. Circle trips, or trips with multi-city itineraries are not permitted. You must follow a permitted routing.
This means that you can't use them on a low CPM mileage run that requires lots of connections. Bummer. I had a good one lined up.

One tip for your future flights: If the fare allows, book it as two one-ways. That way you can at least use one cert on the way out and one on the way back.

So am I correct in saying that you get miles for trips booked using certs?

I might be wrong, but I'm guessing #17 means that, if you use only a partial amount, you cannot then give the remainder to another person to use.
