2013 UA Club Membership Prices Will Increase

E-mail from UA (received 3 minutes ago):

When the year ends, so will current United ClubSM membership prices. To receive this year's lower pricing, renew your membership before January 1, 2013. By renewing, you'll continue to receive access to more than 50 United Club locations, with complimentary bar service, light snacks, Wi-Fi and more. Enjoy another year of relaxation and productivity during your travels.
RNE, I'm a member by credit card. I don't know why they are sending me this.

I got the same, and figured I might as well renew now since I expire at the end of the month. However, when I got to the site, I couldn't find the renewal with miles option. Did this disappear? Is this another change I'm going to like?

Ugh! I just called and the agent said that the miles option is gone.

Membership prices go up, club benefits go down - all in 2013!

That should be the slogan for the UC! Spend $400+ (unless a 1K) and get donut holes, packed clubs, and agents who still don't know how to work SHARES or help much in IROPs.

Sigh...

Just applied for the credit card to beat the inflation. The flight revenue will be going to other *A carriers though (other than 4 segments).

It was the donuts that pushed me over the edge and get the card. Mmmmmmm....DONUTS!

What is the justification for raising UC fees? Rampant inflation?

Miles option has been gone for most 2012 but there are indications it will be restored in 2013
Appears GS can do now and sometimes others have been successful

One can only hope that with a higher annual fee they will improve the food options.....but I doubt it.

For credit card members there is already an aside price increase. Just called the UC to add my spouse as my new card began Nov 1 only to be told that the $150 fee was upped to $200 last week!
