Todays United.com was yesterdays CO.com , yet if you go thru the PMUA forum theres tons of Posts all about .bomb (PMUA.com) so I dont Understand how all of a sudden the former ua.com was so endeared to All when everyone referred to it as .bomb and HATED it!

Sorry I call most everyone on this co.com worked very well and I ddint run into trouble with it as I always did with .bomb Folks just cause you dont like not being bowed down to any longer thats not a reason to simply Bash COdbaUA for anything and everything

I think we all acknowledge that there are issues post merger, but I do have to agree with craz on this. I was a pretty happy flyer with CO and really looking forward to being a happy United customer (absolutely acknowledge increased benefits there).

What I find most distressing about the merger is the effect it has had on this forum. It seems that the helfulness and humor that so attracted me to FlyerTalk is at an all-time low. I just hate to see the constant bickering. From my go-to place to read about and learn it's become the place that makes me shake my head and wish for the storm to pass.

We are to blame

I don't hold out much hope that this decision will be reversed. I can see that quite a number of people are angry about this change and there are plenty of people who claim they have simply had enough. But what I don't see is will by the FT community to organize any action against United in a coordinated way that would make United truly have to take notice.

This community seems to be mostly talk and no real action of any significance similar to the coordinated Save Sky Miles campaign that Delta fliers mounted. Am I wrong to think so?

Agreed. Today's UA forum reminds me of the US forum circa 2006-2008. All bickering and complaints. When I switched to CO in late 2008, the CO forum was like a completely different world -- peace and tranquility. Now, when I want to escape from the negativity, I hang out on the US forum!

This is a very upsetting development. It was my main source of information for deciding which flight to book, and there was NO CONFUSION on my part. This is a true game changer in my loyalty to UA, especially in light of the tendency to sell every F seat, regardless of the price, instead of upgrading a loyal member. This reflects poorly on the culture of UA, as pertaining to transparency. With the new policy of CPU's being applied with no seat assignment, one will really have no way to tell how many F seats are available. I'm hoping that UA will do the right thing and reverse itself on this one.

United Airlines has decided to remove award and upgrade class inventory from various channels, affecting ExpertFlyer. As such, United will be removed from the list of airlines in the Award & Upgrade search tool until further notice. In addition, all Active Flight Alerts for United award or upgrade class codes will be put into the Expired state.

What would the rationale be for the pulling their inventory from EF?? It's not like a novice would ever have a subscription to a third party site!

FWIW, United didn't "pull" it's inventory from EF. EF got its information directly from the United website. So when UA removed that information EF was no longer able to access it just like the rest of us.

All the "bickering and complaints" have a basis in UA's actions over the last 8 months or so. Before that, there was a lot of hopeful optimism that the sum of both parts was going to be a better airline. That hasn't happened and what you are reading and seeing on FT is extreme disappointment in the way things have gone. Don't blame the posters for this.

This forum is still better than the AA forum, though...

I hate this change

So, remove a feature we all love because someone folks find it confusing? Uh-huh.

Whatever. I hate this change. Thank you.

That's more than I've gotten so far. Not even an automated acknowledgement of my note...

This is a great idea - anything we can do to reverse this decision?

Many starting points:
1. Media: WSJ, travel blogs
2. Investor Relations
3. Sr. Management, Board Members
4. Shareholders - especially JPM and mutual funds
5. Social: online petition, viral message

I'm kind of late in reading this thread, but wow this change sucks. I'd thought that maybe I'd screwed up something so that I hadn't been able to check fare bucket availability recently. Now I know where the fault lies.

Unlike others here I can't claim that I'm leaving UA (not a realistic option, given that I'm SFO-based). But it sure does make me a less satisfied customer, more likely to jump at some point in the future.

Add me to the list of people who do not like this change. It kinda hard to find flight to use my 10 RPUs on if I can't see what flights have R seats. I will call the Ik desk and take up the agents time (Hours if I have to) to find the right flights.

My List of Bad Changes for UAL
1) Loss of Expert Mode
2) No more PMUA Upgrade Processing by Elite Status
3) Red Carpet Boarding Process
4) No Tulip Logo
5) White linen for your tray in First
