1 RPU for LAX-JFK-SFO?
In the Old Days (I hear) you could use 1 CR1 (or even 1 e500) for LAX-JFK-SFO with <4 hour connection at JFK. Can you still do this with SHARES?

I have seen SHARES asking 1 RPU for LAX-IAD-SAN

Wouldn't that have been 5 x e500 certificates (LAX-JFK 2475 MILES) ?

IIRC SFO-JFK was just over the 50 miles grace that 5xe500 afforded requiring six e500 certificates.

Someone going on a MR perhaps

if done as LAX-JFK-SFO with no stopover > 4 hours, the e500 distance was LAX-SFO , single e500
obviously a corner case but it did work

2,586 miles -- 6 e500s -- always hurt to be just over.

If you cleared in advance the e500 charge would be based upon SFO-LAX and would not take into account where you flew through to get there. So 1 e500 is correct.

If you did not clear both segments prior to check in then you would be assessed 11 e500s for a SFO-JFK-LAX itin.
