RPU & SDC (Priority)

Hi all,

I searched to see if there was a thread pertaining to this specific topic, but I couldn't find one. With that said, mods, of you feel this specific issue does not warrant a thread of its own, please merge.

On a recent trip, I applied an RPU to my flight. Upon checkin, I was listed very high in the Upgrade Standby List. When I SDC'd onto an earlier flight, I noticed that my ranking on the list was far lower on this new flight.

At the airport, I asked the agent to remove me from the Standby List (prioritized for CPU I assume), and re-add me as a customer who had redeemed an RPU. The agent stated that "no RPU requests can be made on the day of departure." While I told her I understood that—and that I was only asking to be prioritized as a customer who had already redeemed an RPU—she refused to change my ranking.

I assume that when I SDC'd the computer "forgot" that I had redeemed an RPU and this prioritized me as if I hadn't. Now, with that said, why couldn't the GA have manually added me to the Upgrade Standby List at the right priority? (I have to imagine the command is no different than adding a customer to the Upgrade Standby List on an international flight; i.e. when the GPU waitlist fails to automatically move over after expiration—something agents have no problem doing.)

Was I wrong here? Did the computer screw-up? Or is this not policy?

Thanks!
