Question Is It worth a GPU/RPU for A320 flight IAD-SEA?

I realize it's purely subjective, but I'm wondering what this flight is like in FC. It seems unlikely I'll be able to use the BPUs this year, but on this flight I think it might be worth it. If anyone has thoughts about this i'd appreciate feedback.

I'd use it if I could confirm right away. Even if it would go on a WL I'd probably still use it in your situation since you say that you won't be able to use GPUs this year on international flights.

If you don't think you'll need your upgrade instruments for a long-haul AC upgrade, then I do think its worth upgrading even though you're on a transcon A320 flight.

The A320s have the older 1st class seats, not the new lieflat or suites..there are 12 seats 2x2, there are only two drop down screens for the inflight entertainment, best thing is the free drinks and food. I've flown this route 4 times last year, and got upgraded each time. I like the extra space, if you know you wont be able to use the BPUs, go for this one...first is better than coach!

FC is pretty nice on an A320, always a preference to the back of the bus in my opinion. Why not use the UG if your not going across one of the ponds? There are not very many longer transcons than that one...

RPU is a no-brainer. Not much better use than for a transcon.

GPU is worth it if you cannot use on any Intl trip

I value the legroom and not being crowded into Y on a long flight (exit row would be acceptable, though). If I had enough certs in the bank, I'd burn a CR1, unless you're flying on an elite-lite day.

I think another factor is Time of Day/Arrivals activity?
If it's a red eye and you're going to sleep anyways??? If after arrival you have an important meeting??

Been there, done that in a 320; definitely worthwhile. After all, it's 2300-some miles (used to be 2338 before the CO math wizards got to work on distances).

I would. Heading West a flight could turn longer quick, youll be happy you are in F if the weather kicks up.

economy plus isnt that bad........considering i spend 6+ hours in economy plus

Where else would you use a CR-1? A 5-6 hour transcon is probably the best way to use one, unless you are saving it to be used on a trip to Hawaii.

book the bulkhead seat right behind FC... lots of legroom and storage under the partition... i would not waste the upgrade.
