Checking in for codeshare flight: valid ticket coupon not found
I am trying to check in for a flight that was sold by US Airways but operated by United. When I go to the US Airways website, I get an error that says to go to the operating airline (United) to check in. When I try to check-in on United, I get the error: "We are unable to complete the check-in process as a valid ticket coupon cannot be found. "
Is this normal for codeshares? Or some glitch related to the system transition last weekend?

The US (037) ticket is probably appearing as controlled by US in SHARES. Call to US and have them push control to UA. If US says UA has control and you still can't check-in on UA then you'll have to call UA and have them take control of the ticket or have it done by CS at the airport.
Good luck

Called US to get the UA PNR. Entered that PNR on the UA website and still get the same error message. Called UA, they said that my travel agency didn't book the ticket right. Called the travel agency and they said I'm fine, but just can't check this reservation in online?
Everyone seems to be pointing the finger at everyone else.

Not sure, it's an international flight and I'm booked into C, so I didn't put myself on any upgrade wait list.
Can you please explain what "control" of a ticket means?

Unable to completed check-in
Any idea what this message indicates:
"We are unable to complete the check-in process as a valid ticket coupon cannot be found. Please contact a United representative at 1-800-300-1547 for assistance."
I exchanged a reward ticket and now I get this.

I talked to RTW reservations and they told me that I have exchanged the ticket so many times, I have 57 ticket coupons attached to the reservation. This seems to be more than the online systems can handle, and they insist I'm fine but will have to check in with a person, using the e-ticket number.
I'm a little nervous.

I got this error today during OLCI. I have a GPU requested for a domestic and an international leg, but (as usual) neither upgrade cleared. 1K desk told me I would have to check in at the airport. Called back and requested web support who fixed it after much typing. Thanks to those upthread who suggested web support.
