How do you cancel check-in online?

On PMUA website after you checkin for the flight and need to cancel, you just click on the checkin link again, and then select "cancel". On the new website it appears that after you checkin for the flight the checkin button is gone, and I can't find a way to undo the checkin. Does this functionality exist online?

In the past when I had on line issues, I would call the United internet phone. It used to be 800-5895582 and they were able to take care of issues. If you call and it's a different number, please post it.

I am not sure it's an "issue" or a "feature". Does the new website (or an old continental website) have functionality to cancel the online checkin?

The former PMCO website did NOT have the cancel check-in option. Only the former PMUA website had the cancel check-in option. I'm not sure if they plan to add this to the new website in the future or not. If you're really curious I'd PM UAInsider. Maybe this could occur when they deploy FastSHARES later this year?

Hmm... it was really useful, saved me a lot of grief a couple of times...

It also saved me a disappearing over-the-water leg in a partner's system. If I was not about to cancel it, I would miss the int'l leg. Whew.

I'm getting screwed over by the absent ability to cancel an online check-in. I'd like to be able to utilize same-day confirmed changes on united.com as my flight time approaches, but I'm unable to do so once I conduct online check-in, which I often do at about 24 hours before flight time.

Is anyone changing their travel habits in favor of checking in online only just before their flight, so as to not compromise their chances to expeditiously process a same-day confirmed change?

:raiseshand:

It was a nightmare the time I tried to SDC after OLCI.

I always check in at the 24 hour mark. Once I check in, I can do SDC either by phone or at the check-in page (by checking in again) or at the reservation page (click on change flights). I did this twice recently with no issues. Not sure why you would have to cancel check-in with SDC (never had to cancel it before -- just re-checkin).

For me, 3 phone calls to web support and over an hour was the only way I could cancel check in on a flight in early April.

I wanted to do it again for a return flight with my SO, where it wouldn't let us on the airport upgrade standby list, as it performed auto-check in for us even though I never even saw the option on the kiosk on my outbound. Along with bringing back the cancel check in button, perhaps we can remove the auto-check in option

Same here. Just check in again and you'll have the options you need.

The iPhone app is great for SDC, even after check in.

The above post had no reply and my question is the same -- after checking in for a flight, is there an easy way to cancel online checkin in or does one have to call?

You would have to call as there is not a feature to cancel check-in.
