Looks pretty grim. I'm booked connecting thru DEN on Friday evening. Should I hang on and see if I can make it, or should I just go ahead, switch, and get a seat for early on Saturday? I don't have a great sense for how impaired DEN will be by this kind of weather.

The weather service is talking about 10-20 inches in the Denver metro area with blizzard conditions just east of town for Friday and part of Saturday. This may be one of those storms where the airport is open but no one can get to it.

I don't know if Saturday morning will be any better than Friday afternoon as far as getting out of here goes. I would try and connect somewhere other than Denver if you could.

Lovely. Flying through DEN on Saturday morning. Inbound comes in on Friday night.

Upgrades cleared at 100 hours out. Those are always the ones that cancel.

Worst stuff should come through tonight and Friday morning. It will gradually taper off through Friday evening into Saturday AM. If your flights are scheduled for late tonight or early tomorrow I would try to change for sure.

Flying into DEN around 12:30pm on Friday

Glad that we have an airport that can handle snow! (unlike SEA )

Flying out tonight at 6:45, back in tomorrow night at 7:00pm.

I have a real bad feeling I am not getting back in until Saturday morning.

Oddly, it was 45 degrees and a beautiful sunny day this morning. Clouds are just starting to move in.

Keep a watch out for the winds in the area. The two items which usually impact Denver are the winds and the ability for staff to get to the airport so they can work the flights both ground and air crew.

If forecasts do hold up this could be a top 10 or 15 storm for Denver all time.

storm

From my office can see almost all the strctures at DIA. Now predicting snowstart at 4pm. As of now just overcast. Otherwise visibility almost unlimited. Denver Post (hopefully over dramatically) indicating up to 22 inches. Have told the office staff "work at home" protocol is in effect.
