The Fleet Status site is:

https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/

At the site, you can find information about the interior features, livery, etc., for every plane in United's fleet.

To determine which plane your flight will be on go to mobile.united.com and then click on flight status. Put in the flight number for your flight and just have it use today's date (occasionally it'll say flight not operated on this date in which case just choose one of the other 3 dates it lists). In the address bar you'll see something like this:

mobile.united.com/FlightStatus/FlightDetails?carrierCode=UA&flightNumber=1205&fli ghtDate=9%2F22%2F2013&origin=EWR&destination=SFO

Just change the flight date to match the day of your scheduled flight and then change the origin / destination if necessary. Once you do that look in the details tab under aircraft # and if they have assigned a plane it'll say something like #3506 and the type of plane. Once you know that go to the United Fleet website listed above and cross-reference the four digit number against the "aircraft" column under the appropriate aircraft type.

Keep in mind that things change as they get closer and sometimes either they won't have assigned an aircraft yet or it'll be assigned #0 if it's a few days away and they are anticipating aircraft movement (e.g. putting a new/converted p.s. plane entering into service).

738 Maint:
N14214 exited INT 6861/20May
N12218 entered INT 6860/20May

Interesting ferry:
N37277 (mid lav with highest tail number) 6863/20May LAX-Moses Lake (MWH)

Note that Boeing does test flying into MWH. Maybe not a coincidence that Aviation Technical Services announced expansion at Moses Lake for narrowbody maintenance - could this be the first mid lav reconfiguration?

It seems the 789s are to replace the 764s and the 788s will replace the 763s. Current fleet shows the following:

763: 35
788: 36 (6 delivered and 30 still pending)

764: 16
789: 14 (all on order)

Yes, BUT .....

When CO ordered 787s, there were no 763s in the CO fleet @:-)

But, there are, or appear to, soon to exit sCO 762s.

And if the sUA 763 were exiting, don't thing they would have spent the money do reconfigure the former domestic fleet to int'l config.

Didn't CO order 25 and UA order 25... And most of the CO orders were 789s right?

I don't think it's an immediate replacement but over time as the 787s come online. Besides it will be awhile before all 50 are flying.

Also I thought part of the reason for the 767 reconfigure was because the 787s were so delayed? I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.

Most likely the 14 newest 763ERs, which were converted will stay in the fleet longer and the earliest delivered would exit first, whenever that would be. I'm sure the 764s will be around a long time - too bad CO ordered 10 762s and not more 764s.

CO did order more 764s but those orders were converted to 777s.

IIRC, you are right about the split.

Not sure about the reason, but money is in int'l flights, so there was no point in wasting 767s on domestic routes @:-)

With conversions being quite recent, one would think they will stay in service for a while. They aren't the gas hogs that 762s are, so as long as they are profitable to fly ....

Methinks more like the 789s and A350s will be replacing the 744s and the older 777s [the not ER variants].

Well, when the 789s were ordered, they were ordered by PMCO, so at that time no. I think CO just wanted to find and serve long thin routes to increase revenue.

IIRC, the speculation was that A350 will replace B747, and those orders were placed by PMUA.

Does anyone have an updated estimate on timing for the A350 deliveries?

The first 738 mid-lav removal isn't scheduled until later this year, and the first one scheduled to get the mid-lav removal is tail 260.

The I guess UA has another location to do routine maintenance. Was hoping some of the narrowbody stuff would get done. E+ on 11 NGs that don't need an STC for instance. That work takes less than a couple days each. DTV on almost 20 739s - DTV works has seemed to stop.
