Current United domestic 3-class schedule [2012]
So is this pretty much just a random event? UA846 IAD-SFO on 5 Jan 2012 appears to be 3 class on the UA seatmap, although seatguru shows it's 2 class. I'd definitely like to use a regional upgrade if it's 3 class!

SeatGuru shows you what the plane is supposed to be based on normal OPS. Occasionally, not even for IRROPS, but just to move different planes around, they will substitute a different plane for a specific day. Unfortunately, as I've seen with .bomb, the website will also randomly switch the seatmap, even if it doesn't reflect reality. I would see what seatmap is shown on CO.com, or by calling in and finding out what they're seeing in the system.

It was when I flew it on Dec31, and had been shown as such when I booked it at least a month in advance.

BTW, flew on a PMCO 752 in F yesterday LAX-IAH with the BusinessFirst cabin and the lie flat seats & AVOD were terrific! And yes, the airplane had "United" on the sides and also departed from UA's term 7 at LAX. Great on board service with a nice lunch as well.
UA/CO 1007: Depart LAX 9:30am, arrive IAH 2:43pm.
As for return service, PMCO operates a 752 with the BF cabin as UA/CO 52 departing IAH at 7:35am arriving LAX 9:30am.
Mods, please move this if it needs to go somewhere else.

mobile.united.com says it's Aircraft #2897, which is N797UA, which is a 3-class new configuration 777 (a 77Q to be more specific).

Scheduled three-cabin domestic widebodies, Jan. 2012
I started with the widebody schedule posted at unitedcargo.com, then manually validated those flights on various days of the week on united.com for January. Here's a start. I'm happy to take updates / corrections.
EASTBOUND TRIPS
UA950 LAX-IAD 7:52 a.m.-3:35 p.m. - old intl 777 daily
UA653 LAX-IAD 12:45 p.m.-8:22 p.m - old intl 777 daily
UA972 SFO-ORD 9:55 a.m.-4:10 p.m. - intl 763 daily
UA902 DEN-IAD 10:50 a.m.-4:50 p.m. - intl 763 daily
UA910 DEN-ORD 8:58 a.m.-12:20 p.m. - new intl 777 (not on widebody schedule)
WESTBOUND TRIPS
UA967 IAD-LAX 5:47 p.m.-8:23 p.m. - old intl 777 daily
UA883 IAD-ORD 9:03 a.m.-10:05 a.m. - new intl 777 some days of week
UA284 IAD-ORD 9:08 a.m.-10:10 a.m. - new intl 777 daily
UA878 IAD-ORD 4:15 p.m.-5:29 p.m. - intl 763 some days of week
UA965 IAD-ORD 5:12 p.m.-6:26 p.m. - intl 763 daily (old 777 on Fridays)
UA846 IAD-SFO 8:25 a.m.-11:21 a.m. - old intl 777 daily
UA675 ORD-DEN 8:00 a.m.-9:49 a.m. - intl 763 daily
UA949 ORD-DEN 6:20 p.m.-8:05 p.m. - new intl 777 (not on widebody schedule)
UA964 ORD-IAD 1:15 p.m.-4:07 p.m. - new intl 777 daily
UA907 ORD-SFO 5:21 p.m.-8:16 p.m. - intl 763 daily
USEFUL ON EASTBOUND OR WESTBOUND TRIPS
UA639 SFO-LAX 8:21 a.m.-9:47 a.m. - old intl 777 Saturdays and Sundays
UA595 SFO-LAX 8:21 a.m.-9:47 a.m. - old intl 777 (not on widebody schedule)
The unitedcargo.com schedule cruelly applies designation "B777" to both the old three-cabin 777 and the domestic 777. At least the new-configuration equipment is guaranteed to get "77Q" or "76I".

No, a 77D is an international 777-200 (non-er) with IPTE improvements. The domestic 777-200 is 77A. But as was stated, the cargo site does not list them as 77A. Eventually there will be 77J too (777-200ER w/ IPTE improvements), but I do not believe any of those have been converted yet.

Excluding the the PMCO 772, how many different versions of the 772 does UA have, and how are they referred to? (I had been aware of 4: domestic, 2 variants of international version, and IPTE; I didn't realize though there non-ER and ER versions. It seems from Wikipedia there are 6)

Additionally there is a single MQ floating around with 4 additional economy seats and testing a new slimline cabin.

Plus domestically configured (non-ER) 77A
(And of course the PMCO 772, which is ER)
Do I have it?!
