Segment Run Help

Hey Guys,

I have a friend who is currently 3.5 segments from qualifying for 1K. She doesn't know much about airline status or really cares to know and was planning on ending the year 3.5 segments short of 1K!! I was telling her since she's so close to 1K it will be well worth it to just book a connecting flight or 2 to get those last few segments. I'm a Delta guy so I'm not too familiar with Uniteds routes. The lowest I've been able to piece together is ~500. If this was me, I would do it in a second(am I crazy?!) but she was hesitant about paying 500 for it.

I was hoping someone on here could help piece together an intinerary thats under 500(if it's possible) departing from either SFO/SJC and returning to ORD or a multi city that departs from ORD and returns to ORD the week between Christmas and New Years? Ideally, it would all be all in one day, but doesn't necessarily have to be.

Thanks in advance guys!!

She can do SFO-CLD (Carlsbad) via LAX all in one day on Dec 30 for $314, or a little more earlier in the week. About a 6 hour layover, but drive to San Diego or something.

Can she just add segments onto her existing routings to get 1K? That would be the easiest... Otherwise just jump on kayak and start plugging in routings and/or visit the a fore mentioned thread to get ideas. bu

I did the LAX-CLD run last week to add segments to a "normal" trip. I just took the same a/c out... the turn is approximately 25 minutes unless you take the last flight of the day to CLD.

I did go through the TSA theatrics again, but it was quick and they seemed to be friendlier than at most TSA checkpoints.

Agree with the turnaround possibility.

It's $98 + taxes on Christmas Day!! Have to leave at 6 am, but home by 1 pm.

I should post this in MR...but I won't.

Other options:

$258 SFO-PHX-TUS and back, December 12th or 13th - all on US.

$325 SFO-LAX-IPL and back, December 19th.
