Actually, I have had better meals at McDonald's that haven't made sick at all unlike some of the recent p.s. and int'l F meals UA has served me.

Completely agree. I also hate flying CO 752s over the pond, though they are quite alright on domestic routes such as FLL/MIA-EWR.

In Y, a "joke" AVOD is better then none *cough* 747 *cough*.

It looks like it's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (although the preview shows some scenes from Part 2 which was awesome). Sad to say this but I grew up with HP: Go Harry Potter! ^^^

Maybe one day we can all view GOOD movies through on UA/CO IFE. We just have to keep writing! :)

If you fly Pacific routes you can't avoid them. And since those are the longer routes, it makes the lack of any AVOD in coach all the more unacceptable.

Yes... I guess a good reason to avoid Y :eek:, but seriously it should be improved... I have not been in Y on a UA 747. Until then the cocktails are still free! (I think...) :D

Actually none, we had an option to once, but I begged and pleaded with my parents not to (and my dad hates 747s anyways after a bad flight on a NW one) because of the lack of AVOD on the 12 hour flight, and we ended up going through SIN and HKG on SQ.

That is a pity, AVOD aside, the 747 is really a wonderful plane to fly. It's was 30 years old now, and I still marvel at it. I wish the economy would justify more orders for the new one.

I'm trying to convince him to fly an OZ and/or SQ 747, and I think if we have the chance, we will.

What else is new? This forum has finally discovered that US carriers are generally inferior to their foreign counter-parts.

I am flying NRT-SFO in F in a week on UA. I expect nothing more than a reasonably decent seat. Mostly, due to the above statement I have been camping the ANA site in the hopes F on NH opens to LAX, SFO, ORD, IAD, or JFK. It doesn't look like it is going to happen.

Based on seats alone. I would imagine that in business you buy CO, in F you buy UA. Having not sampled (but heard the rumors) the UA food, I am guessing that in UA v. CO CO wins there both compared to C and F.

Without a doubt the new UA F seat cleans the clock of the old LH F, as well as probably old NH F as well. The former based on experience the latter based on seeing pictures of the seat.

This thread seems to be more about being an angry internet guy as opposed to a person who wants to engage in reasoned discussion.
