Greenpeace protest at Heathrow Feb 25 AM

It was just on BBC news that Greenpeace is staging a protest at Heathrow by climbing on top of a plane that just came in from Manchester. No word yet on impact this is having on operations.

Climate campaigners are on top of a Manchester to London plane parked at Heathrow Airports Terminal One. They are now covering the tailfin with a huge protest banner that reads CLIMATE EMERGENCY NO 3rd RUNWAY.

Apparently no operational effect, but lots of news coverage.

I think the reason for the protest is probably to counter Branson's publicity stunt yesterday with one from the other side of the fence today. They're almost as good at the PR as he is.

The Branson coconut oil stunt was funny. Nice!

Would the second stunt mean tighter passenger security - considering the protestors had dressed as ground staff?

Good Greenpeace publicity! Not so much for BAA.

Surely that would result in tighter ground staff security rather than tighter passenger security?
