walk to hotels at GLA

There are several airports that are within wlking distance of the airport. I have looked at the google maps and street scene and cannot discern a safe route to walk to the Courtyard or Premier Inn. Sidewalks seem to disappear at the roundabouts. Not sure if one can cut thru the parking lots or not. Many posts in other travel websites state that it is doable, but how??

To Premier Inn: Leave trerminal, turn left, walk along street (sidewalk) past car rental place, left at roundabout, cross road at zebra crossing, continue straight across carpark under flyover, done.

Courtyard: Leave terminal, cross access road at zebra crossing, follow directions to the Holiday Inn Express (along the left hand side of multi-storey car park), and then there's a covered walkway which ends at a pelican crossing accross the street from the HIX. Cross the street, accross the HIX carpark, continue straight on unter the flyover, and there's a pedestrian exit there that leads to a walkway and another pelican crossing in front of the big Inospace building. Cross the street, and the Courtyard is a couple steps down the road.

Just to add into the mix that such is the proximity of GLA to the city, you may not be saving that much time walking from one of those hotels compared to getting a bus or taxi from a well-placed city centre hotel. Obviously depends on your plans, prices, etc. but worth thinking about as a possibility.

Thanks for the info. I need BA flights to renew silver and GLA-LCY seems a good choice. Never a fan on B2B, so taking a late night arrival with next day am departure. Staying at the Courtyard earns a bonus elite night as well.

Glasgow International Airport (GLA) is located about 13 km (8 miles) west of Glasgow city center. There are several hotels within walking distance of the airport, including:
  1. Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport: This hotel is located just across the road from the airport terminal, so it's the closest option. It takes less than five minutes to walk to the hotel from the terminal.
  2. Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow Airport: This hotel is located just a little further away than the Holiday Inn, but still within walking distance. It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the hotel from the terminal.
  3. Travelodge Glasgow Airport: This hotel is located a bit further away than the other two, but still within walking distance. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the hotel from the terminal.

... and Holiday Inn Express and Premier Inn, as mentioned above.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express a couple of times for silly O'Clock crack of dawn departures and was happy with it, and they will lay on a basic breakfast from 4am for those very early departures (normal breakfast with cooked items is from 6.00am onwards). It and the Holiday Inn are the two closest to the terminal (not that the others are hugely far anyway).

Despite living in Glasgow, I have actually stayed at the Courtyard for a really early flight. Saves the hassle of finding a cab or Uber really early in the morning, or having to drive and park last minute when there's no cab or Uber to be found, which is expensive. It's a really easy walk to/from the airport as long as it's not raining. Luckily it rarely rains in Glasgow......
