Dublin Electronics: USB-C

Suggestions for electronics - specifically phone (or other) chargers with a "Type G" British BS-1363 type plug (for this 3-prong outlet). More specifically, USB-C chargers.

To date, finding a USB-C charger anywhere has been a bear. No luck in HKG, SIN or anywhere in the ROK where electronics flow like wine - I have typically been getting strange looks and told to just use a "regular" USB charger with the appropriate cable. To any local or other FTer, am I wasting my time looking in DUB?

Cheers

apple store, overpriced stuff... but probably more widespread (for usb type-c cable/chargers), and you know the quality (google type-c cable issues)

their MB charger does 15V/2A and 5V/2.4A i think. no QC, no 5V/3A or higher voltages

(this is the problem with typeC now.. products don't often say which PD profiles/voltages they support

even for your typeC device, do you know what voltage you need? 5V/2.4A can charge all device at the base rate, but doing it for an apple MB will be very slow

Although despite the amount of tax Apple doesn't pay, there are no official Apple stores in Ireland yet. Only third party.

The new MBPs are USB-C (given the tragic loss of top design mag-safe), but only the MB chargers will probably be in third party stores, so far (and they might not be the abundantly stocked).
