I doubt it. Airlines must be prepared to pay for fast track access just as they do for security check.

I really despair at these premium services for a fee. At the risk of sounding like a raving socialist, we should be insisting on acceptable services for all and not allowing others to buy their way up the queue.

Full Disclosure: I have used them at times when travel class or other status permitted; just like private health insurance, it should not be necessary if the publicly funded service was adequate.

Some folks will crawl over broken glass to get £5 off a flight. The proportionally low uptake of premium services itself suggests that the balance is not too far out of kilter with what people would prefer. Nothing wrong with receiving what you pay for.

I pay for a reasonable transit through security/immigration, not to be delayed by resources deployed on a premium channel.

You make it sound as if they are taking resources that would otherwise be allocated to your route (to your detriment). The glass half full person might say the money spent by the airlines or passengers on these facilities pays for the extra resources to man them.

Open all lines/booths to all people equally, reduce everyone's queue time, even if marginally.

Remove the option to pay for premium service? No way.

I agree with your comment

we should be insisting on acceptable services for all . . .
but this is the real world and besides, the two things aren't mutually exclusive.
