Bird Strike on a Train?
This was taken at Manchester Picadilly on the train which was to become the 14:55 to Euston yesterday.

I am no ornithologist so all I can say is that it is of the large feathered variety and would probably make a good meal if roasted with some seasonal vegetables. There were a few people in red overcoats discussing what to do so I decided not to seize the opportunity of bagging myself some game on this occasion.
This is proof that you are better off in a train than you are in a plane in the event of a bird strike. So while my traveller card is still valid I will be using VT to get to Manchester

Juvenile pheasant, probably hen. They aren't terribly bright, on the whole. You'd not get a good meal out of it either.
