A baffling (but highly predictable for a politician) statement.
There was another moron on the today programme this morning saying, in the context of connecting flights, that there was "plenty" of capacity at other airports. Not sure he's ever taken a connecting flight in his life. |

Oh, I don't know, it's pretty much what you'd expect from modern politicians. Most of them seem to be career politicians precisely because they're pretty useless at anything else. :D

So that would be like FR having a connecting flight when you land at STN (London North) and the next one goes from LGW (London South)?

I did despair at a quote by Justine Greening I heard today. It was (and I paraphrase) that "it is time to build on the growing consensus that a third runway is not desirable" - but the best bit was "and anyway, it is not a proper full-length runway so has very limited benefits as it will not be able to take the larger planes at LHR"
But she completely fails to mention that by the new R3 handling a good deal of the NB and short-haul WB aircraft it will free up a significant number of take-off and landing slots on the existing full-length pair of runways....so still providing a very worthwhile overall capacity increase. A baffling (but highly predictable for a politician) statement by her |
I find it discomfiting that Ms Greening has such a shallow understanding of her brief. Or perhaps she just parrots what her "Sir Humphrey" tells her to say.

No, that's Oxford International ;)

I can only imagine the looks on tourists faces when they arrive at 'London Oxford' to find they need travel 30mins on a bus and another 1.5hrs on a train to reach the west of central London.

I love watching the third runway ripping apart the Conservative Party. Serves this party full of self interested idiots right for having such a stupid manifesto pledge in the first place.
I wonder how air head Cameron is going to deal with it? |

OXF does now seem to be referred to as London Oxford Airport, at least according to their website: http://www.oxfordairport.co.uk/
