Ambassador Club Problem
I have been a long time member of the Ambassador Club. Main reason was that I am based in Columbus, OH and they had a club here that I could use before departures or while waiting for someone flying in.
Last June (unsure of exact date) they closed the club for "remodeling" per the sign on the door. About 4 weeks later I asked when it would be reopened. I was told it was going to be taken over by Amer. West. and they had no idea when it would reopen. Mind you - there was no sign on Club entrance, NO letter to Columbus members, nothing!! About 2 weeks ago the Am. West club opened. I went in but was refused as they have no sharing agreement with TWA. (Am West Club members did use the TWA Club before.)
I wrote Ambassadors Club and asked for 1) an extension to my membership by 5 months (it was closed for that long) or a prorated refund. They said NO. What a ripoff.
It seems you get headlines whenever a new Club opens or new routes on TWA, but not a peep when a closing occurs. They should at minimum notified all members who live within 100 miles of the Colubus airport.
Well, I may retry my attempt for an extension . Anyone else with such an experience?

Believe that once the AWA-TWA codeshare begins, there will be full access to all clubs for both airlines. This will help to cover a few of the holes in the Ambassador Club system, and add a lot of attractive locations for AWA Club members.
