TWA cheap mileage run??
Forget the mileage, I need to get just three segments for entry level elite. Apparently the Amex offer only requires three segments b/t now and 12/31. So, how can I do this from NY..either LGA or JFK?

to get 3 segs on 1 tkt all you need to do is to fly somewhere beyond STL. You fly JFK-STL-LAX, the return can be a non-stop.Out of LGA you'll get 4 segs no nonstops except to STL. I used LAX since you'll get extra miles while you're at it,but it can be to anywhere as long as its beyond STL.Do BE CAREFULL some flights that go JFK-STL-? are the same flight # so be sure that the flight you'll be connecting to in STL is a different # than the one from NY

New York seems like a tough place to start a TWA mileage run if the end-goal is three cheap segments.
Pick some city beyond StL that you actually want to spend a weekend in, and buy a ticket from TWA's website. It'll cost ya a couple hundred dollars or so.
I would have it much easier: I'm in Kansas City and have a few friends in St. Louis I could visit. If I had never flown TWA before, I could get this one taken care of with two $99 RTs (*very* restrictive coach tickets). Heck...I'd do it four times and get the 25,000 bonus miles, too.
As much as I sometimes hate flying this airline, they ALWAYS have the best promos!

Welcom to Aviators Elite!
A suggestion:
RT NYC-CHI (VIA STL). Fare $ 178.00 less 25% thru www.lowestfare.com equals $ 133.50 plus tax.
Also, check out TW's DOT.COM deals each week - but nothing there this week that beats above suggestion, tho.
