I just completed my Latin Pass and had no problem except on TWA. The flights were amazing one plane the padding had worn out and was like sitting in a metal seat. Very uncomfortable seat the worst.
Upon my return we were told to board as maintenance, was about to finish up, 2 hours later still onboard waiting finally they then decide to fuel up. I got in at 1:30 am instead of 10:00 Pm.
The thing that kills me about TWA and Northwest is they fly these 30 year old DC9", mine was 32 years old. If it is a maintenance issue it does not count against their on time delivery, because the government doesn't want airlines to slop through their work. So officially they can be the on time machine even if every flight is 5 hours late because of Maintenance.
They then tell us they are ordering a plane every 10 days, but if you look into this they have put off the deliveries because of a cash problem. Well I wonder why they have lost money for 12 years straight. Maybe they should move their hub to a third world country, since they operate like one.

Flown TWA three times this year and have had excellent, on-time, comfortable flights. Great FA's and good equipment. And, I can even get a Pepsi! For all of TWA's financial problems and older equipment, at least I think they should be given some credit for trying to focus on customer service, on-time flights and upgrading equipment (which isn't very easy to do when you haven't had a profitable year since 1988). Just my thoughts to balance your outburst.

I think that is an insult to third world countries ! I'll take a Taca ( Or Avianca, Aces, etc.) flight over TWA any day

All organizations can improve if they are committed. I remember when Continental was a mess, now through new leadership they are a really great airline. New planes, new routes, friendly people, updated terminals. For the sake of the long time employees, I really to hope they make it. I feel for the people who put in 30 years with plans to retire and travel.

Arrived in MIA yesterday after doing the LP in 4 days where on the 11+ flights I inaccounted no probs EXCEPT when I got back to MIA. The TWA plane for the 3:30 pm flight was so hot inside that one could have fried an egg in a sec took 45 mins to get the cabin cooled and that was after take-off. There was no excuse for this as the plane should have been cooled way before boarding a single person. It must have been 90+ outside and they really dont care about the passengers but they did a great job in saving fuel!
