Lowestfare.com Discounts TWA 30%
Do TWA tickets issued by lowestfare.com qualify for FF points?
Lowestfare.com discounts TWA tickets 30%. I confirmed this today by pricing a March routing MIA-DEN-MIA and a walkup fare (departing tomorrow) for a non-stop MSY-JFK-MSY.

You get all the points and bonuses ( if available ).
My mom and fiance have used Lowestfare.com few times and never have any problems with crediting miles to their accounts.

I've had nothing but great experiences with lowestfare.com. The discounts are real, just check the twa website, then go to lowestfare.com. Same exact flights, 25-30% off.
Miles are always credited. No online bonus but saving a couple of hundred dollars is better than 1000 miles anyway.
One caution: you always get the way back of the bus for seat assignments. Rows 25+. call TWA direct as soon as you receive your tickets (they are sent UPS) and change them.

Lowest-fare is really Global Travel which if Im correct is owned by Carl Ichan who used to own TWA. Yes the discounts are real but dont expect any help from TW if you must change your flights or for whatever reason you miss it! TW hates l.f. since it was Ichan they feel who raped TWA and the blood-feud is still on today. But with proper planning you can save alot but you must fly w/TWA,I flew on these in the past with both good and bad results and have decided to stay away from them in the future but then again Im on my last paid tkt on TWA and Ill be staying away from them as well even though Ill be Plat. again for 2000.

upgrades work also. Echo what was said earlier--don't think they like them too well, and woe betide you if TW has an irregularity--no rebooking elsewhere.

Technically, Icahn's tickets are Contract Fares and contract fares are not supposed to be handled by the TWA general reservation staff. TWA has a separate Contract Fare reservation desk that is supposed to handle any changes to these types of tickets. Icahn purchases these tickets based on his agreement with TWA but does not appear to adequately inform the purchaser of their status and how to change them.
I found this out after having difficulty with a ticket last December that required a change. I was bounced around a bit because of an agents & her supervisor's inability to change my destination and reassess the fare in the computer... finally she gave me the contract number and it was resolved quickly.
I dont use Icahn-tickets that often anyway since I fly mostly out of STL and the tickets arent available for STL O&D traffic, just STL connections. I had the contract 800 number but I have since tossed it out.
I understand this agreement between Icahn and TWA, code-named Karabu, expires in 2003. TWE flights are not available for the discounts, either.
It is true that Icahn is a four-letter word around TWA he bled them dry and then dropped the company off the side of the road to die. I guess TWA received the most recent laugh, though, since Icahns IPO for Global Travel / LowestFare.Com was pulled off the Street after investors indicated they were extremely worried that Icahns only lowest fares were on TWA, and thus the IPO was worthless if TWA were to die or when Karabu expired.
