15,000 Miles from TWA

Don't know if you've seen this, but it looks like a good deal:

(Reported on MSN at http://expedia.msn.com/daily/travnew...99twabonus.asp )

Fly business class on any Trans World Airlines flight this summer and you'll receive a bonus of 15,000 frequent flyer miles. Fly first class or full-fare coach and you'll get double miles.

The double miles offer is good on travel through 25 August, while the offer of 15,000 bonus miles is valid on travel through 15 September.

Both offers are good for travel on any TWA flight except for those going to or departing from the Middle East. Although offers are not valid on flights on TWA's partner carriers, the double-miles promotion is valid on flights aboard Trans World Express, TWA's regional branch.

Once passengers purchase a ticket, they must register on or before 31 July; to do so, call 1 (800) 325-4815 and follow the automated instructions. The promotional code for the double miles offer is 87382, and the code for the Trans World One bonus miles offer is 89663.

(End of clipping) Now, the question is, would this work on a short domestic hop?

I guess I found the answer to part of my question. According to a new posting on the TWA website:

EARN 15,000 AVIATOR MILES ON TRANS WORLD ONE FLIGHTS THROUGH SEPTEMBER 15

When you purchase a full CTWONE fare* and fly round trip between the U.S. and Europe, you'll receive a bonus of 15,000 Aviator miles.

15,000 Aviator miles are enough for a free domestic round trip ticket in markets less than 750 miles each way.

The Trans World One service bonus offer, effective June 15 through September 15, 1999, will be credited to your Aviators portfolio after you complete your eligible international roundtrip. And there's no limit to the number of Trans World One bonuses you can earn during the three-month promotion period.

Prior to actual travel, you must register for the Trans World One bonus offer by calling 800-325-4815 and entering code 89663.

* Includes corporate rates, excludes other discounts.

(End of quote) I guess this means the answer is, "No, you can't get 15,000 bonus Aviators miles from a short hop domestic TWA flight in business class." I wish MSN were more thorough on these things.

The mailer I received indicated that I was presented with the opportunity because I'm a "valued" Diner's Club card member.

It also indicates you can register for the promo at http://www.twa.com .

In addition, if you're not yet an Aviators member, call 800-221-2000, mention code 89132 and receive an additional 3000 miles after your first flight.
