Jamiel: I think you're talking about www.PlaneBusiness.Com . It has a message board identical to FlyerTalk except that it is mostly airline employees.
As a TWA customer/observer, it has a very interesting "strike-watch/proposal-review" section that apparently TWA contracted with PlaneBusiness.Com to manage. TWA employees from all over and in all job positions trade barbs about whether to accept / deny the TWA proposal.
Also there are several other threads that comment about the maintenance business of flying, facilities, what type of paint to use, etc. I found it very interesting and spent about 90 minutes digesting everything. I even signed up to post some things but decided not to post since, as a customer, I felt like I would intrude on their world.

MileCrazy: Thanks for the refresher. I am just about to book a flight STL - MEX and I did not remember the double miles. You just saved me about 3,500 miles. Thanks.
Regarding the MSY - MEX flight, I understand from a TWA press release that the flight originates in NY at JFK. Thus it is kind of a continuing flight that has MSY conveniently right in the middle of the route.
If you're interested, see:

I was at New Orleans Airport on Friday to meet Matt Wald, and I was quite surprised to see a banner announcing the new TWA service to Mexico City. I'm always happy to see my airport getting more service, but that seemed like such an odd route! I wonder if TWA will add more domestic flights to get connecting passengers to MSY now ...

somewhere else on the pages (in the Buzz) was a website very similar to this one only for airline employees. They had a TW section where they talked about this very topic-apparently New Orleans kind of recruited TW to serve the route, but the consensus was that it was a very shrewd flanking move that none of the other airlines could bother with, and would allow expansion into other countries/areas in Mexico/Central America easily (neither DL, AA nor CO would pull flights from their respective hubs to combat with TW), plus it would be something that would be non-competitive with Southwest.
