Problems using the THY online Booking engine

Just wondered if anyone could advise. Please bear in mind I live in Hong Kong.

I keep trying to book a flight on the Turksih Airlines website and seem to have two problems:

1. The booking screen never loads, or,

2. If it does cannot seem to complete the credit card booking process. get as far as having a booking reference issued then all goes wrong, and yes I am way within my credit card limits.

Can anyone make a suggestion?

Alternative is to book at the local ticket office with a mark up of 400%!

Thanks.

Hi,

Which "Country" website did you use. If you used the HK one, maybe you can try the International version? Browser version can also be a problem.. though for me it has worked both in Mozilla and IE. Not sure about Safari..

Anyway, the online booking engine is not very friendly in some ways, no option for stopover or multicity...

Though this seems to be an up and coming airline.. hope to try them if possible this year.

Tried all sorts/probably end up on Atlas Jet!

Tried Explorer and Firefox on different computers in different locations over several days.

Also tried international site, Chinese site, US Site, UK Site and a couple others.

Just does not seem to want to work and cannot get a decent price from a travel agent!

Probably travel Atlas Jet!

Be Very Careful!

Ended up being charged by my credit card company 4 times and there was no reservation made.

Had to go through the reservations number and now getting my credit card company to cancel the transactions!

Thanks Did Contact Local Office-No Record!

Alondra,

Thanks very much I contacted the local office here in HK, the London office who recommended Central Reservations and then central reservations.

There was absolutely no record of the booking at all, but my credit card company is now looking into it.

I think it is an issue potential users of the website, including Turkish Airlines who did not see it as a problem, ought to be aware to avoid the problem I have.

Regards,

Nicc

I've previously booked a Y class fare on THY.com, seemingly without problem (although I may find out otherwise in due course).

I tried to make a C class booking on the website a couple of weeks ago, and there didn't seem any way to do it.

Very strange, I thought.

Hmmm interesting. What was the route for the flight you tried to book? Since Turkey is a pretty small country compared to the U.S. and 95% of domestic flights take less than 1.5 hours, TA has removed C class seats and now only offer economy within domestic routes.

By the way, TA needs to fix their crappy business lounges. Good god, some of the worst I have ever seen.

I gave up with the website and used Expedia, as thy.com absolutely refused to do anything but singles and returns. Needless to say, my SK card number got lost in the system, and they really had no idea what to do with the card at check-in during the first two weeks of Star Alliance [non-]integration.
