Adding TSA Pre

Did not see a way to add a TSA Pre # to my (and traveling partner) reservation in the manage booking area. Do I need to call them? My experience (with other airlines) is that adding it at airport checkin may be too late to get it to appear on the boarding pass.

For those following... Did not appear any way to add it online, so I called and had them add the number. Their English language skills are marginal... so I hope it go in there correctly. I will give the call center some credit, as the hold times are very short, or none at all, at least when I have called!

The legend has it that you should be able to add at the online check-in.

Indeed, do it during OLCI on the website even if it won't give you bp. There was a report a while ago that the app does not allow you to add the KTN.

I find it completely unacceptable that an airline is part of TSA Pre for 6+ years and STILL no way to efficiently store the KTN.

I can confirm. I checked in on the app, and there was no spot to add TSA Precheck. I did go to the website, and there was a spot for the KTN.

Question, where does "TSA PRECHECK" Mark appear on the mobile device? Is it the one on the very bottom with super tiny letters next to API?

Even though I called and had them manually add the number, it wasn't there at airport checkin. Ugh. Fortunately they added it then and all good. I always thought airlines needed 24 hours to "process" the ktn. Guess not!

I also thought that the 24 hour thing was necessary. However, one time I forgot to add it to my Alaska ticket and ended up in a huge line for normal screening. While in the line, I asked myself why not try it, and I added my traveler's number and re-checked in (I guess you can do that with Alaska). And guess what? Tsa precheck showed up! Then I left that line/queue and went for TSA precheck.

These days TSA precheck seems to have longer lines, sometimes longer than not having it. It's still great that we don't have to take shoes off, laptops, etc.
