TK Baggage Allowance for UA Award Ticket as a *A/MP Gold
TK can't really help with this question, so I'm hoping someone here can:
Economy Award ticket ICN - IST - TXL booked via UA's website, I'm *A/MP Gold.
I get that the formula for the weight limit countries (as opposed to the piece count countries) is up to 20kg in economy, regardless how many pieces there are.
Yet, the Star Alliance website says:Gold Status - Star Alliance --- > Detail
TK can't really get themselves to acknowledge this and it's not mentioned on their website (only that Miles&Smiles members get an additional allowance).
Can someone here help? Thanks.

"Extra Baggage Allowance
You can take an extra 20 kg (44 pounds) where the weight concept applies or an extra piece where the piece concept applies. Some airlines do not offer this benefit on individual flights but only on connecting Star Alliance flights. Within Europe on "Light" fares offered by Lufthansa, Austrian & SWISS, "Check&Go" fares offered by Brussels Airlines, "tap discount" fares offered by TAP and “Go light” fares offered by SAS, the extra baggage allowance is not offered."TK can't really get themselves to acknowledge this and it's not mentioned on their website (only that Miles&Smiles members get an additional allowance).

They acknowledge it, but yes, there's no page explicitly showing you the extra allowance. Wouldn't worry about it. Nothing you can do prior
to the flight, since I imagine also UA's baggage allowance page won't show it properly.

As an additional data point, I have had no trouble receiving the extra 20kg allowance in Y as a non-TK Star Gold member where the weight "concept" applies, even at out-stations with non-TK, contracted, check-in staff.
