B777s wetleased from 9W (Jet) (now gone) [Master Thread]

I see that in July IST-GRU is operated by 9W. How does that affect accrual on partners? It's this a wet lease a la United-Aer Lingus MAD-IAD a few years ago, or is this something different?

It's a wet lease operation, as with the previous wet lease from Jet normal TK mileage rules apply.

As TK won't be selling F, which passengers will get access to those seats?

I'm looking at IST-ICN which will be operated by 9W but we will be two people and the business pods make conversation quite difficult...

Yes. I just reserved 1K and 2K on a EZE-GRU-IST flight coming up. Of the 8, they initially block 2, 1A and 1D, the rest are free for assignment

Awesome. So if I book far in advance I should be able to reserve the two middle F seats eh? I've looked on expert flyer and it says that seat maps for TK can't be viewed until 100 days before departure. Would I still be able to call in and have those seats reserved for me? I would only want to book this flight if I can secure the 2 middle F.

Seats can only be booked 100 days before departure, even if you call Turkish Airlines' office.

So I guess they're still selling A-class economy comfort on this plane, but there won't actually be economy comfort?

Airlineroute.net has this switching to a 343 for a few months instead of the leased 77W's - didn't it have to make a stop in DKR due to range limitations or something back when 343's used to run it?

Ohh, you are right. TK even changed it in the system to A343. The tech stop was scheduled when the route was operated by an A332. The A343 can make it nonstop. That will be quite a nasty surprise for C pax.

IST ICN, the other 9W 77W route, switched to an A333. Looks like TK will not operate the 9W birds at all.

Finally some changes that make a lot of sense:
- ICN route is not yet so strong to support a daily 777 service
- BKK and BOM are great destinations for the Jet 77W with 274 in economy and 30+8 in Business (8 in First, sold as business).

A great reason to try to fly to BKK in C this summer, the possibility of getting assigned in one of those 8 F seats...

TK seats configuration on new 9W operated routes!

hi!
has anyone some infos about the seats configuration on the aircrafts used by TK but leased by 9W (particularly the 77W)?
are these aircrafts with the same seats configuration (and type) as the others TK aircrafts?
I'm interested on Y and Y+ seats!

thanks
