Elite Plus upgrades

According to the TK site, holders of ELITE PLUS status get two complimentary upgrades every year. Some questions:
1. Is each of these upgrades for RT (in other words, two RTs per year)
2. If I do a BKK-IST-JFK RT would that use one of these upgrades or two, or four?
Thanks
Larry

Hi.

The vouchers are SWU,means:

BKK-IST-JFK = 1 + JFK-IST-BKK = 1 = 2 in total.

Though not as high as your hopes but also not bad at all

If there is availability

I've been led to believe (from postings in this forum only) that the upgrades are good for a one-way trip, which may have two legs. However, some have been told that the upgrades are per sector only.

Come October I'll have some myself, interested to see what happens...

Used it on RUH-IST-HEL-IST-RUH.
Booked over the local TK office. Both were SWU's.
I hope there are no enhancements a la LH M&M

I think with TK anything is possible ( ...in good and bad,in... ).
The problem I had to face was the availability.
But they promised to improve that for E+

@ father_ted.Any concrete news about the 1 leg issue ?

I wouldn't be surprised that some of their staff doesn't know the exact rules of these vouchers Hopefully i'm wrong and they are like you have experienced. ^ Can you clarify your E+ extra availability thingy?

The Routes RUH-IST / IST-RUH have a very high load of business PAX
with full revenue TIX in C so TK wasn't very generous with UPs for E+.
It was hard to find flight dates matching with my schedules.
I was on the waiting list for quite a while and had to reschedule several times

Seems to be the problem on several routes despite the fact that they
promised to improve the award availability for E+.

I have had decent success using the upgrades but they are PER LEG. Most of the time I have had one long haul and a short haul so I just upgrade the long haul. My route was primarily Cape Town to europe and back.

As far as it being a good deal or not, I think it is pretty good. My Lufthansa Senator status gets me 2 every 2 years vs. 2 every year with TK.

TK is what it is. A decent airline at generally a great price.

I have used several, some per leg, some per one way trip. One incompetent agent also told me I must use 2 for a one-way trip, no way to upgrade 1 leg only.
