Add Iris Scan for my child's Nexus? (Toronto)

My son (almost five years old) has a Nexus card. He got it when he was an infant, so he did not get an iris scan. This creates some small hassles for us: every time we travel together, we have to go to "special services" because we cannot scan his iris at the machine.

Can we somehow add an iris scan to his existing Nexus record or whatever? If so, how do we do that?

We are in Toronto. We went to Pearson airport for the initial interviews and stuff. Do we need to take a separate visit to the airport to do this? Is it possible just to do it next time we are at the airport travelling?

Any information much appreciated! Thanks!

Locations that record iris scans are listed here (with hours of operation). No appointment is necessary (or possible) for adding an iris scan to an existing Nexus membership:

Please note that CBSA is retiring iris scans as the "fingerprint" for Nexus in favor of facial recognition (photograph). At some airports, iris scan machines are no longer present:

Notice: Modernizing NEXUS Air Processing at Canadian Airports
The CBSA is modernizing the way NEXUS members are processed at Canadian airports. The existing NEXUS kiosks that use iris recognition technology are being replaced with new, modernized NEXUS kiosks that use facial verification technology. The new kiosks are now available at Vancouver International Airport, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Halifax Stanfield International Airport and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport. The new kiosks will be installed at other Canadian airports in the following months.

What will CBSA do with the iris scans once all machines have been updated?

Are iris scans still being performed or has CBSA retired all the iris kiosks?
