Interesting. Just did the same thing yesterday and it was the first time that no one asked to see my NEXUS card and I did notice that you could go to normal or GE for U.S. Customs after having your luggage scanned. Also, no tablet removal from luggage required which has always been the opposite on previous trips.

Even though Toronto has the older scanners, it appears that they have more displays to look at top/side/etc of bags at the same time.
