USPS only updates information late at night, once every 24 hrs for everything except Express Mail. When you wake up in the morning, go back on line and check status. I think you should be fine, and your passport will arrive by Thursday or Friday. As a further positive note....Priority Mail delivers on Saturday (as well as Express Mail)

Passports seem to be returned by priority mail routinely now, mine included. My girlfriend's renewal also came back priority mail. Nice if that's fairly standard, saves the money on expedited service when you're not traveling immediately.
USPS says priority mail takes 2 to 3 days for at least the lower 48, so you should be ok.

Good news, It's on my desk! No need for a sudden Dengue attack
April 14, nothing from the Passport Office at my door or in the mailbox
April 15 In the midst of an MR to Jacksonville, I call home from JFK. No passport has been dropped at our door. I head to the boarding area and become the victim of a late departure mis-connect requiring an eventual reroute via ATL.
Since I am flying my phone is turned off.
Upon reaching ATL, I call home to update where I am. My wife says, "I see you got the voice mail message". No I actually had not. The passport arrived in a Priority envelope delivered to our mailbox.
Today, I verified that they had the correct name, the picture quality can only be described as awful, others have commented on the juvenile pictures within and it contains 52 pages.
On Monday, I am off to Singapore via Jacksonville with all out-bound segments and the return to JAX upgraded.
Only the final JAX-ATL-LAX remains pending. EUA runs 5 days prior to return. Final segment is on Horizon Air LAX-PDX; no upgrades since there is no FC.
Thanks all for your comments and concern. The backdoor status link was great.
