Differentiated meals and nicer wines would be a good start. A nicer lounge (TPR is paid F & R) would be nice too. Different BP's certainly don't make it "a class beyond first" that is for sure.

I agree! If SQ wants to justify the extra moolah they are charging people just for the privilege of the Suites, it has to come up with something special. If they chose to use the booking class of "R" ala Concorde, then do a special menu, do a Reserved Cellar with better and Finer wines, do limousine transfers, to/from Singapore if not other cities as Singapore is really small enough ! How about personalised escorting to the aircraft by SQ 'blue coat' personnel on electric trolleys, and from aircraft to SIN immigration hall, special security bypass lanes. Or how about taking one's jackets and coats at the Private Room, and special boarding for Suite Guests directly to aircraft.

Cos EK does some of the above for its regular F class passengers on their 77W and A345 aircrafts without charging extra. Would be interesting what their F on A380 are going to be like and so far, they are not charging a special fare for this.

Anyway, back to the report.

Sydfly, I used an automatic ISO setting along with the preset brightness setting to take those pictures.

Is it Canon 870IS by any chance?

Thanks for this beautiful report, is is absolutely exquisite. ^

What can I say? I am totally sold on this SQ A380 Suites, thanks to this wonderfrul report. Like qasr pointed out, it would be nice to have a special menu on this flight. However, as someone based in the U.S., it is not likely that I will be flying to SYD or LHR via SIN anytime soon but SIN-NRT is fair game. In fact, I just checked after reading this report yesterday that I can in fact book on SQ A380 Suites for SIN-NRT no problem because it has a NH codeshare and therefore, in policy. The only bummer is I only get X 2 miles (or 425%) with BD DC for SQ flights in F or R as opposed to 300% mileage (or 625%) with most *A carriers in First Class. I will be booking it as a NH codeshare, which will undoubtedly be credited by the operating carrier, SQ, as their R class for X2. But at least, I can try to convince the BD ICC that I really booked it as NH F per the ticket... Can't blame me for trying! Anyway, we'll see. I will definitely report it here after I actually fly, which could be a few months away depending on schedule. What I can also do, since someone asked earlier here about pics of the double bed - I will most likely be travelling with a buddy. If so, I will make sure we book the pair seat and have the FAs turn down the beds into the double bed as you see in the commercial. Then I'll pray there is another empty, unoccupied single Suite on the flight if it is not full so that I can use that one. Trust me, this time I will arm myself with a competent camera - can't risk falling further behind...

Tip about SQ F sleeper service

Here is an idea on sleeper service on SQ F. If you want a fuller meal on the SIN-NRT route, you can order something aside from Kyo-Kaiseki from the Cook the Book such as Lobster Thermidor. Then when the meal time comes, simply tell the FA you want the lighter version of Kyo-Kaiseki, which is already loaded for all Japan flights, served along with your choice of Cook the Book main entree (e.g. Lobster Thermidor). In this case, the lighter Japanese meal on the sleeper service can be used as your appetizers, which they probably are. I like the idea of being served prior to arrival as opposed to when you get onboard. Given the departure time, chances are you don't require any food at midnight so no need to stuff yourself unnecessarily. I know I would have dinner in the SQ Private Room prior to boarding the flight for sure.

Nice report. I've done business class on the 380 and I walked past the suites upon arrival, but that will probably be the closest I'll get to them in a long time.

Then again I am extremely happy to be flying biz on SQ's A380 or 773 anytime. Nothing to complain about at all.

This is a wonderful report, with great pictures, BlissWorld.

Has anyone written a report on the SQ 380 in biz? If so, where would I find it?

I agree with your other suggestions (gasp) but who cares about limo transfers? I always have a car at both ends.

I honestly think that having a car at both ends reduces the stress of travel more than just about anything I can think of -- and it doesn't really cost that much more than a cab most of the time. And when it does, it's still worth it! I always have a car at both ends.
