Going down under the long way

Got some time now as my flight is delayed to write up a trip report so far.

I had a ticket booked KRK-FRA-AMS-IAD-SFO a while back. Decided to make myself a vacation so I got a ticket AMS-ORD-SFO-SYD MEL-SYD-SFO-ORD-AMS and a separate 1way SFO-ORD. Combine that with a flight to NAN, CNS, PER and you got a routing like

KRK-FRA-AMS-ORD-SFO-SYD-CNS-BNE-AKL-NAN-AKL-PER-MEL-SYD-SFO-ORD-AMS-IAD-SFO-ORD
for the month of July. Majority is on UA all was upgraded to C/F. Intra OZ is Qantas and to NAN is a award in C on NZ.

July 1st
LH KRK-FRA
Got to the airport early. Friend dropped me of. No problem checking my 1 suitcase in. Went to the lounge. They put a new lounge in KRK. Quite nice. Some snacks, espresso machine, plasma, and 5 Apple desktops with 23" screens and a color laser. Grabbed a drink and checked my email. Off to get bussed on the flight.
Flight was OK. Nothing special. Got some sort of sack lunch.
When I got into FRA, I placed my suitcase into the overnight storage and headed into town on the subway. From the central train station, it was about a 5-7min walk to the IC.
Checked in and got a upgrade to the deluxe room. Was OK. RA gift was some water, fruit and a mint pack. I went to the town center and grabbed some dinner and relaxed.

July 2nd
FRA-AMS-ORD-SFO-SYD
Got up at 430AM to catch the 750AM flight to AMS. Was able to still stop by the SEN lounge for breakfast. Flight was delayed almost a hr getting into AMS. I headed over to the SQ lounge before my UA flight. As I posted before the matron gave a speech on how I should use UA lounge. I pointed at the *G logo and told her too bad. Lounge was OK. Some food, sandwiches, drinks, etc.
Boarded my flight. We waited about a hr before pushback. Crew was excellent on this flight. Very friendly. Got into ORD about 25min late. Thats where the fun started. When we were pulling up to the gate I got a text that my SFO-SYD was canceled. After I grabbed my suitcase I called up the 1K desk. After about 30min I was able to get out to LAX and then to SYD with some help of a sup putting me on the standby, calling up the airport and gate, etc. And the best part was my LAX-SYD was still in upgraded C.
Checked in with no issues. Headed to the RCC. Was waitlisted for the ORD-LAX for F. Cleared that about 30min before boarding. Though, that flight was delayed almost 2hrs. Got into LAX after 9pm and saw that the SYD flight is "delayed". No time, nothing. Got to the RCC and they said they have to send out a 747 from SFO. 45min later it left the SFO gate and with a new dept time past midnight, looks like I'll overall get into SYD about a hr later than my original itin placed me there. At least they are keeping the RCC open till then and I decided to VDB. If they need me, they got some steep agreements and as the SFO-SYD was canceled today and yesterdays LAX-SYD was very, very delayed and this one is delayed they just my take my current offer of a nice $ amount in VDB credit, hotel, tomorrow's QF J/F, NZ C or UA F and a reimbursement for the 1night lost in the hotel fees in SYD.

More to come...
