2012 Château Belle-Vue Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc, Bordeaux, France
I needed an umbrella more than a tasting glass as I tramped around the vineyards of Bordeaux during the 2012 vintage. Spirits and expectations were low. But it shows the skill of the good modern Bordeaux estates that they have managed to produce delightful, characterful wines. Belle-Vue is an impressive property, with vines nudging those of southern Margaux, and this wine has tremendous dark, ripe depth, its blackcurrant and black cherry fruit streaked with spice and the mouthwatering chewiness of fine Haut Medoc red.
2013 Robert Oatley Shiraz, McLaren Vale, Australia
Robert Oatley, the patriarch of the Oatley family, is well known for his interests in competitive sailing, tourism and wine. The Oatley wines are made by highly rated consultant winemaker - Larry Cherubino, and are sourced from a diverse range of quality regions across Australia. 2014 Devil's Lair Hidden Cave, Margaret River, Australia
Margaret River in Western Australia is home to some of Australia's best Chardonnay. This wine is made by talented winemaker Oliver Crawford and is an excellent example of the new breed of Aussie Chardonnay exciting wine drinkers around the world.

2012 Château Belle-Vue Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc, Bordeaux, France
I needed an umbrella more than a tasting glass as I tramped around the vineyards of Bordeaux during the 2012 vintage. Spirits and expectations were low. But it shows the skill of the good modern Bordeaux estates that they have managed to produce delightful, characterful wines. Belle-Vue is an impressive property, with vines nudging those of southern Margaux, and this wine has tremendous dark, ripe depth, its blackcurrant and black cherry fruit streaked with spice and the mouthwatering chewiness of fine Haut Medoc red.
2013 Robert Oatley Shiraz, McLaren Vale, Australia
Robert Oatley, the patriarch of the Oatley family, is well known for his interests in competitive sailing, tourism and wine. The Oatley wines are made by highly rated consultant winemaker - Larry Cherubino, and are sourced from a diverse range of quality regions across Australia. An excellent example of modern Shiraz, this wine combines great fruit intensity with characteristic McLaren Vale softness. Excellent with Western or Asian style chicken, beef or lamb dishes.

The cool maritime climate of the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne is particularly well suited to growing top quality Pinot Noir. 2013 Marchesi de Frescobaldi Tenuta di Castiglioni Toscana IGT, Italy
The Frescobaldis are a Florentine family making wines that are synonymous with quality and consistency. This wine is an example of the family's commitment towards innovation while still remaining true to its Tuscan roots. With Cabernet Sauvignon as a major grape varietal of the blend, there is wonderful concentration of blackberry and cassis supported by firm tannins; the Merlot adds red plums and the Sangiovese adds red cherry flavours layered with cocoa and cinnamon. The distinguishing aspect of this medium bodied, supple red is the wonderful balance and approachability. Perfect with tomato-based sauces, red meat dishes and antipasti.

I needed an umbrella more than a tasting glass as I tramped around the vineyards of Bordeaux during the 2012 vintage. Spirits and expectations were low. But it shows the skill of the good modern Bordeaux estates that they have managed to produce delightful, characterful wines. Belle-Vue is an impressive property, with vines nudging those of southern Margaux, and this wine has tremendous dark, ripe depth, its blackcurrant and black cherry fruit streaked with spice and the mouthwatering chewiness of fine Haut Medoc red.
2013 Marchesi de Frescobaldi Tenuta di Castiglioni Toscana IGT, Italy
The Frescobaldis are a Florentine family making wines that are synonymous with quality and consistency. This wine is an example of the family's commitment towards innovation while still remaining true to its Tuscan roots. I needed an umbrella more than a tasting glass as I tramped around the vineyards of Bordeaux during the 2012 vintage. Spirits and expectations were low. But it shows the skill of the good modern Bordeaux estates that they have managed to produce delightful, characterful wines. Belle-Vue is an impressive property, with vines nudging those of southern Margaux, and this wine has tremendous dark, ripe depth, its blackcurrant and black cherry fruit streaked with spice and the mouthwatering chewiness of fine Haut Medoc red.

Robert Oatley, the patriarch of the Oatley family, is well known for his interests in competitive sailing, tourism and wine. I needed an umbrella more than a tasting glass as I tramped around the vineyards of Bordeaux during the 2012 vintage. Spirits and expectations were low. But it shows the skill of the good modern Bordeaux estates that they have managed to produce delightful, characterful wines. Belle-Vue is an impressive property, with vines nudging those of southern Margaux, and this wine has tremendous dark, ripe depth, its blackcurrant and black cherry fruit streaked with spice and the mouthwatering chewiness of fine Haut Medoc red.
2013 Robert Oatley Shiraz, McLaren Vale, Australia
Robert Oatley, the patriarch of the Oatley family, is well known for his interests in competitive sailing, tourism and wine. The Oatley wines are made by highly rated consultant winemaker - Larry Cherubino, and are sourced from a diverse range of quality regions across Australia. An excellent example of modern Shiraz, this wine combines great fruit intensity with characteristic McLaren Vale softness. Excellent with Western or Asian style chicken, beef or lamb dishes.

2015 Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Dog Point achieved immediately cult status when first released in 2004. This was not surprising given the pedigree and experience of the founding partners, Viticulturist Ivan Sutherland and oenologist James Healy both held key roles at Cloudy Bay for over a decade before beginning their Dog Point collaboration. Dog Point is estate grown and boasts some of the region's finest vineyard sites.
2012 Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard AOC, Burgundy, France
A vibrant, attractive Chablis that offers charming flavors of grapefruit, lemon and minerals. As one would expect from a top premier cru Chablis, the wine offers a minerally, slightly salty finish. Made from 30 year old vines on classic Chablis terror - Kimmeridgian soil that has layers of limestone, marl and marine fossils. Jean-Marc Brocard crafts charming Chablis, combining linear acidity with lovely depth of flavors. Enjoy with light seafood dishes.

2012 Penfolds RWT Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia
Penfolds' best red wines are revered around the world, as is their Chief Winemaker - Peter Gago. RWT stands for "red wine trial", an experiment to see what would happen when the wine from old Barossa Shiraz was aged in French rather than American oak barrels. Since its first release in 1977, RWT has become an iconic wine of great reputation and quality. Excellent with most poultry or beef dishes.
2010 Louis Latour Chateau Corton-Grancey Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France
A vibrant red Burgundy that displays the chase and savory, earthy character of the Corton Granny vineyard. This is an elegant red Burgundy that is very consistent year after year in offering sweet red berry flavours that are layered with bay leaf, thyme and an earthy finish. In this fantastic vintage, the Corton has more flesh and density than usual with a fine line of acidity running through it.
2004 Chateau Leoville-Poyferre Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, France
This splendid estate covering 80 hectares of vines in the best part of the Medoc, was named as a Second Growth in the famous classification of the best Bordeaux wines in 1855 and has retained this high status ever since. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are harvested at their peak of ripeness to make this classic "Bordeaux Blend". Deep carmine-ruby in colour, with fragrantly intense aromas of red and black berries, the rich concentration of fruit on the palate is balanced by an elegantly firm finish. It is eminently suited to white and red meats and of course perfect with cheese.

2007 Chateau Rauzan-Segla, Margaux, France
Classified as a "Second Growth" in 1855, second only to Chateau Margaux itself, the 51-hectare Rauzan-Segla estate has maintained this ranking across three centuries. Now under the meticulous ownership of the Wertheimer family, better known for their Chanel fashion brand, no effort is spared to make the best wine possible. 2007 is a lovely vintage with fragrance on the nose and fine texture on the palate, showing to perfection the depth and character from Rauzan-Segla's vineyards with the hallmark elegance of the Margaux appellation.

2015 Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Dog Point achieved immediately cult status when first released in 2004. This was not surprising given the pedigree and experience of the founding partners, Viticulturist Ivan Sutherland and oenologist James Healy both held key roles at Cloudy Bay for over a decade before beginning their Dog Point collaboration. Dog Point is estate grown and boasts some of the region's finest vineyard sites.

A vibrant, attractive Chablis that offers charming flavors of grapefruit, lemon and minerals. As one would expect from a top premier cru Chablis, the wine offers a minerally, slightly salty finish. Made from 30 year old vines on classic Chablis terror - Kimmeridgian soil that has layers of limestone, marl and marine fossils. Jean-Marc Brocard crafts charming Chablis, combining linear acidity with lovely depth of flavors. Enjoy with light seafood dishes.

RWT stands for "red wine trial", an experiment to see what would happen when the wine from old Barossa Shiraz was aged in French rather than American oak barrels. Since its first release in 1977, RWT has become an iconic wine of great reputation and quality. Excellent with most poultry or beef dishes.
2010 Louis Latour Chateau Corton-Grancey Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France
A vibrant red Burgundy that displays the chase and savory, earthy character of the Corton Granny vineyard. This is an elegant red Burgundy that is very consistent year after year in offering sweet red berry flavours that are layered with bay leaf, thyme and an earthy finish. In this fantastic vintage, the Corton has more flesh and density than usual with a fine line of acidity running through it.
2004 Chateau Leoville-Poyferre Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, France
This splendid estate covering 80 hectares of vines in the best part of the Medoc, was named as a Second Growth in the famous classification of the best Bordeaux wines in 1855 and has retained this high status ever since. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are harvested at their peak of ripeness to make this classic "Bordeaux Blend". Deep carmine-ruby in colour, with fragrantly intense aromas of red and black berries, the rich concentration of fruit on the palate is balanced by an elegantly firm finish. It is eminently suited to white and red meats and of course perfect with cheese.

Classified as a "Second Growth" in 1855, second only to Chateau Margaux itself, the 51-hectare Rauzan-Segla estate has maintained this ranking across three centuries. Now under the meticulous ownership of the Wertheimer family, better known for their Chanel fashion brand, no effort is spared to make the best wine possible. 2007 is a lovely vintage with fragrance on the nose and fine texture on the palate, showing to perfection the depth and character from Rauzan-Segla's vineyards with the hallmark elegance of the Margaux appellation.
