Great post by the OP! ^
I was recently talking with some friends, about my moving myself forward towards the pointy end of the plane using miles. Someone pointed out that for the money I'd spend on a WT+ seat (which I then upgrade to J), I could fly on one of these new J only airlines.

So tonuge in cheek I said "where's the fun in doing that if there's no feeling of immense smugness that you're getting treated better that those in Y."

I did actually point out that the real reason that I don't do these is because they don't fly to my destinations and/or have enough services to allow me to catch a another flight if the one I'm on doesn't go anywhere.

I felt the lights came on a little soon shortly after 0600 OK time, and there was plenty of chatter amongst the stewardesses which should have been curtailed...On the matter of lighting, it may be possible to fit different lighting schemes to future aircraft to avoid the lurch from black to searchlight which seems to afflict older aircraft.
Ain't it just so, whatever airline, if it's not FA chatter it's the searchlights at 6am. On a red-eye there's no customers, just prisoners.

Wonderful report.

For a British airline there is some appalling English on that menu.

I heard Silverjet's flight on Friday got disrupted. A friend was due to fly, then she got called before she left for Luton and told there would be a delay, then contacted and requested to be at Heathrow by 3:30pm for the 6pm Virgin flight. They had a rep at Heathrow to smooth things out.

Do you know if Silverjet passengers were accommodated in Premium or Upper?

So far as I know they put everyone they could on Upper and the rest went on Premium.

The power point is a standard US style two PIN plug with 110 volts AC.

I understand a second EWR service will start July with the addition of a second 767 aircraft.

For 400 dollars rt and the chance of flying virgin if delayed is good enough for me.
