Can't wait to read your posts. I've been in the breeding grounds on the Pacific side (Magdalena Bay) and then also had some amazing experiences sailing with blue whales in the Sea of Cortez. There's nothing quite like having a blue whale come right up out of the, um, blue to your 40' sailboat ... so close you can see his eye and the barnacles around it ... just to check you out.

Oh, and if you haven't already read it, Steinbeck's "Log from the Sea of Cortez" is a good one for this trip.

What a spectacular picture of a dolphin and exquisite definition of the water 2 posts above - and a fascinating description of the phosphorescent dolphins in your last post.
