Quick points chasing to MXP

Hi again!
Im back with one more real short trip, this time focused on getting points to be sure that I will renew my status. LH current promo is generous, for business class trip (with layover) you can get 4*40 + 4*20 (promo bonus) + 4*40*0,8 points (climate contribution), which makes it a great offer, if you're short on points. I should not be, but LH is not kind enough to give me points for climate contribution for 17 flight that I did on early October, so well... And every chance to have a trip is a nice chance.
So, 0 nights trip, that I even do not plan to get out of the airports. I searched for something quite comfy, not focused on time at the destination, and some interesting flights.
What's the plan:
Breakfast (quick, in Polonez Gold)
LO WAW - MUC on E190
slightly more than an hour in MUC, so some lounge, maybe some shopping
EN MUC - MXP on E190 (as far as I remember)
time in MXP - about 3 hours
LX MXP - ZRH, operated by Helvetic, E190-E2
longer layover in ZRH, so maybe some lounge hopping (or just an Alpine lounge)
LO ZRH - WAW on 737 Max 8

Why this?
1) LO morning flight is slightly after 7, so better than LH more than 30 minutes earlier, it always good to have few minutes more in bed
2) It's been a while since I tried LO business class for the last time (I think it was from Belgrade in October 2024), so I will check the morning flight with breakfast and a coffee, and some evening with more options to have a glass of wine (or 3, because why not). And arrival time should be before 10, so acceptable.
3) I had really nice flight on Air Dolomiti in August, so I would like to check if they keep the standard
4) It's always good to have evening champagne on LX
5) It's a unique event when I have some time in ZRH. Usually I rush, or have 20 minutes to catch a lounge. So, maybe some sightseeing, etc.
6) MXP was first airport abroad that I went to with my friends for a city break, it was in 2019, so I will check it again. I pretty much prefer Linate for trip to Milan, but it's always good to know what is what.
I will try to keep this TR almost live, but we will see.

So, hello from Munich! I decided that I will not put many entries here, as this trip is mostly focused on flights, so I will keep this TR short.

In the morning I had some issues with Bolt, so I was left with 15 minutes to have a bite in Polonez Gold. During my stay, they announced that boarding will be 15 minutes late, at 7:00, so a few minutes extra. Selection was rather standard.

Somę time ago, there were signals that they changed the champagne in the lounge, and indeed, it's different.

Unfortunately, it's worse and really bland. Sad change. At least the Holy Grail is still here

I decided to take a short walk. I passed by the sushi machine, prices are OK (for airport food), and it looked nice

I decided to board at about 7:05, which should be just after opening the process, but in reality I was one of 3 last passengers and they started calling us to board. So, they did not start at 7. Well...
I'm pretty sure that during booking the flight was scheduled to be on E90, but it's going to be E75S, which means... no difference. Quite heavy business load for LOT, 7 pax, cabin full. 3A for me.

PDB water or juice

Quite some time after take off the purser started the service

Tomato juice and coffee for me. Later on, also a sparkling water. Some snacks were also offered - I took pumpkin seeds and cashews.

So, time to judge - who is better between WAW and MUC - LH or LO?

Well, clearly LO! Seats are far better - 2-2 vs. 3-3, which means 1-1 vs. 2-2 in business, and well-padded seats. Also, great chance to have a power port.
Food was also OK, snacks were available. It's hard to get an inspiring breakfast, but the quality was good, and the portion was also good. Maybe, some jam would be nice, to go with croissant.
In eco - on LO you can get a Putka bun, but also a juice, coffee, and - tadam! - beer and wine for free, which is far, far better than LH.
Also, the departure time is 40 minutes later, so sometimes it's a big difference.
If possible, I will go with LO with my next trips.

Hello from Lufthansa lounge at Milan Malpensa.

My time in Senator lounge in Munich was rather boring. I did not eat that much, and the offer was typical, so boring.

Ahead of schedule boarding, and as it's Air Dolomiti, it means bus gate. Weather is not nice, but at least it's not below 0.

3A once again, water was provided before take off.

11 seats in C cabin, I think that 7 were taken. 6 people went to sleep, so I was the only one interested in the service

When flying Air Dolomiti, espresso is sort of mandatory to enjoy, as it's unique in the Europe. I also decided to try the Bottega aperitif, at first straight, later on with prosecco. It's better with prosecco.

Some spectacular views

So, did I enjoy this quick hop? Of course! The meal was interesting, but good, nice coffee, a lot of Italian touches, really nice crew. Once again, I can report an above average experience!

So, hi from Alpine Lounge in Zurich.

Fortunately, MXP allows to stay airside during connections. But the airport is not the best organized ones, so it's not that easy to find anything. After checking some shopping opportunities (I was able to locate only some small fraction of shops that in theory should be there) I found nothing interesting, so, it's time to find a quiet place to wait for my flight. At least, it's well marked.

This is a really nice lounge! Nice buffet, barista coffee station, and a bar.

People from CDG definitely should come here! As we are in Italy, it's mandatory to have a Spritz and Negroni

On-time boarding and quite massive C cabin. But with group of eldery people it quickly went why. 3A once again.

This is a 35-minute flight, so it's hard to expect anything. Sandwiches were provided as a snack

I mentioned the group. There were coming to or from a trip and had a small celebration during the flight (birthday? The crew handed some gifts, like bottles of champagne and chocolate), so the champagne was really flowing. At first, the crew did top up from the galley, but quickly they noticed that it will be easier to just pass with a bottle.

Two glasses more and one water later, it was time to land.

Great flight. I was impressed how such a short flight can turn into something. All expectation met.

Time to conclude this TR, however points are still not at my account.

In Zurich we had a bus gate. At least Swiss provided separate bus for C passengers, so we had a quick start to the terminal. After short walk my first target was the Alpine lounge. One important thing: they close it at 6 pm, so please be aware of that.

Lounge was very quiet, and mostly empty. Buffet:

And a pinsa station with made-to-order food

I decided to sample one. It was delivered to my table by a lovely lady. And it was very good!

The bar

Very good time here, I will return with pleasure at every opportunity.

Time to move for some shopping

Next stop is quite clear

First things first, shower

Buffet and the bar

And it was time to head to my gate.

OK, there's a lot of pictures here, so I will cover the flight in separate post, hopefully today.

So, final leg of this trip. 737 Max 8 to WAW. This time 1A for me

Flight was full, and the boarding was a real chaos and messy experience. It turned out, that there was some IT issue, so 2 people had the same seat assigned, someone was in C cabin, despite having Y ticket, etc. So, it took almost an hour to board! No chance at all for on time arrival.

And the meal

2 white wines and 2 reds on offer, I decided to sample both whites

With water later on. Cashews etc. were provided once again

The meal was really interesting. Concept of not having a dessert is unique. Overall, good experience, not counting the boarding process.
Concept of offering wines in bottles rather than pour from big bottle is a nice touch.
