Would you be willing to share your guide Tito's details (if you have them)? I am firmly in the middle of planning my trip but LATAm flight schedule changes means I have a lot less time that I wanted. I would like to make the most of it with someone I can use to visit what I want to in the short space of time!

Thank you for sharing your trip to Easter Island with us via this beautifully photographed trip report. 🌴 It brought back fond memories of my stay there in 1995. It looks like they've re-erected quite a few more moai.

Entry formalities were more casual when I went in '95. No advance bookings were required, and upon arrival many local families would gather at the outdoor arrivals area with signs encouraging you to stay with them. I did and had a great time, attending their daughter's high school graduation followed by a big party and feast afterward.

The bar in town was the little general store. I'd buy a nice cold Escudo or Cristal and then sit out on the porch and drink it. And I remember the best tuna sandwiches with this delicious mustard sauce. I got the impression the tuna was caught that morning.

Again, thanks for rekindling the memories 🌴 🌞

Wow, how much has changed in the last 30 years! That would have been a real adventure just showing up there and picking a family to stay with for a few days right when you arrived. That would have been so cool and such an immersive experience!

Great report. I went a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Looks like you saw a lot during your trip as well.
