A cold spread of rolls, sandwiches and charcuterie, and a basic bar. One bit of oddness, there’s fridges full of crown corked soft drinks, and no bottle opener |
Pleasure reading, JapesUK. Looking forward to next week already!

The Robert Capa of FT has come home safely again.
I would join in the critique of Burger King in Malaga Airport but my jet lagged wife and I once ate at the the Kentucky Fried Chicken in the train station near our hotel in Fukuoka Japan, so I am afraid my conscience won't allow my to chastise you :). However after savoring multiple TRs, as a 71 y/o male, a question has come to my mind that I must delicately try to ask you. When I travel, I carefully plot the location of all available WC and mute my consumption of coffee (and I LOVE my coffee as much as you seem to) as my bladder and I are often at cross purposes when I travel. You however seem to consume voluminous amounts of liquids without any accommodations to age or bladder. What is your super power, and can you share it with me :)? Can't wait tell next weekends travel missive, and since it looks like my wife and I may not get to CPH in November, could you swing by there please? All the best dear FTyer. |

I do indeed love my coffee, and I think the sheer volume I drink on a normal day has immunised me to its effects. That said, as I am less than a decade behind you I can say that I always follow the golden rule, ‘Never pass by a bathroom’, and the second rule ‘smile sweetly on boarding, and nip straight into the facilities’ :D CPH is not on the horizon currently I’m afraid, but you never know what I’ll get up to, heck, even I don’t know half the time! |

Was the KFC episode at Christmas? If so, then isn’t that just following tradition?

Third was always have a 20 p coin at hand (no NOT a pun), never know when you might need it whilst in the UK. mnhusker |
Oh, a report from CPH would have me thoroughly jealous. I've just returned from my first visit and can't wait to get back. Alas, I live nearly 8,000 KM away.
If I consumed as much fluid as you, my reports would be about my frequency to the loo! |
Another TR Masterpiece, thank you.
Good to see that the Lounge at AGP was looking a little more civilised than when we visited on 13th July - it was an absolute zoo, every table piled high with half eaten food and half drunk bottles. Oh yes and the crown cap thing - I could not believe that I had to join a queue for the single bottle opener on a string in order to open my very warm bottle of water. Whoever thought that every bottle of drink should have a crown cap on is certifiably insane or a masochist. Still we are never going back there again! |

I think I was fortunate in that the fridges had yet to be refilled so I got the overnight batch of bottles that were actually chilled. The lounge was not busy the entire time I was there and one lady was keeping it tidy. I can imagine that if the lounge was busy then one person would have no chance bussing the tables. Feels like the lounge needs some investment and repair. In the gents toilets at the back of the lounge of the 2 stalls, one had the seat missing. The toilets nearer the buffet, of three stalls 1 had clearly had the door ripped off! |

There will probably be quite a few BA folks going *through* CPH in the next few months to get the SAS status match. I will at least spend the night in town and might post my inferior TR. I don't think 'our japes' gets out of the airport...
Looking forward to you TR, I shall follow with great interest. |

Great report, again! Malaga looks cute - might add it to next year's list!

At the end of my Jan trip I said I’d return, and I’d say that again, I’ll definitely go back, and not just at the end of a TP run |

This had me confused for a while in the Velazquez lounge in Madrid - the bottle opener was fixed to the wall at one side, and had a 'half moon' brown metal cover. Totally non-obvious!
