Really good read, thanks for the trip report. Ive not done the SOF run yet so found it all very interesting.
Favourite comment of the report, and of the week, but this kind of stuff was science fiction when I was a kid.
I work in IT and I still marvel about what we take for granted versus the norm when I started over 40 years ago when there was no internet and no PCs in general circulation

My seatmate back to LHR was not a regular FTer but was a reader trying out their first B2B to see how it went. As he found, it is super-easy. You get off the plane and you are already airside at the departure gate. Group 1 was called for boarding into the staging area before everyone had exited the plane, so you should be able to go straight through to boarding as you get off.
Was your trip all one ticket or separate itineraries?

My trip was all on one 125 stock ticket as a BA holiday, but you won't be able to do quite the same now as the rules have changed to only allow one exit from the UK.
