The business lounge was very quiet, almost certainly due to the time of night, it closes at 22:00

With a Spaten and a small St Kilian I have been catching up on this report and now it is 21:55 and time to be kicked out of the lounge and head for the gate. The St Kilian was so so, not horrible but I wouldnt add a bottle to my collection

Walking down the stairs I was merrily taking pictures of the small passenger jet attached to the jet bridge and. It was a fake out

Our chariot awaits.

First time on the CRJ 900 so again I asked if I could stick my nose in the cockpit. The captain obliged and another very space efficient flight deck.

My seat for both outbound and return is row 1 and there is more than ample space. Row 2 D-F is equally spacious

And with that were all aboard and its time to belt up both figuratively and literally
Next stop, Sibiu

First impression of the CRJ900 in flight? It is really quiet. The loudest thing I could hear during take off was the air vent in the overhead panel. I chose badly on the seating, all the views were out of the right hand side of the plane so hopefully some good nighttime pictures on the landing into Munich Sunday morning.
The flight time is a little over one hour. We are off the ground in good time and quickly the seatbelt sign is off and the IFL is starting the drinks service. Of course it is another sparkling wine

There are only three rows in front of the curtain for a total of three passengers in business. This plane is a 2-2 config and Lufthansa block one of the seats so you get the pair to yourself. Row one has the toilet to the right and so is just a left hand pair of seats.
Food service followed without delay and on this leg it was a chilled grilled chicken and Parmesan dish with a green bean salad. This was accompanied by a chocolate and, maybe, cherry desert. Again very nice, and all gone.
It was gone so fast in fact that I forgot to take a photo!
Top ups were quickly offered and I went for the coffee and a cognac again.

The flight crew then took the trolley down the length of the plane to do the economy buy on board offering. Once they got back my food tray was cleared and another top up offered, and, for once, declined I must be sickening for something
One of the crew then offered out chocolates down the complete length of the plane. These were a pleasant small milk chocolate bar with the Lufthansa logo on a central boss. Chocolates, for economy! BA can you see what your peers are doing?

The toilet next to row one is ridiculously, hilariously, small. Having somehow crammed my two meter tall, 100+ kilo frame into this space I then have to get out again, and the door folds inwards. I believe I have potential as a contortionist as my sunset career!
Ten minutes to landing and the business class chocolates made an appearance and and equally rapid disappearance inside me.

And minutes later we are on the ground exactly on time.
A lovely crew again, and an excellent in flight experience, two out of two for Lufthansa.

Bag collection was different, straight from the hold

And through to passport control where a very confused young lady struggled with the concept of visiting for dinner and I had to give her the full back story, restaurant name, and previous visit history before she decided I was a harmless lunatic and stamped my passport.
my driver was waiting for me at arrivals and we are at this moment heading to the hotel. Local time 01:30

Trip to the Art Hotel where I am staying for the next two nights was under 15 minutes and here we are.

A ridiculous number of stairs led up to my room in an annex. If I ever stay here again itll be hand baggage only, not a 25kg suitcase.
The room is extensive and trying hard to be trendy.

Baggage dropped I headed back to the bar for a nightcap and here we hit the first bump in the road.
The lights are motion sensitive and did not come on. As a result I had to navigate the top flight of stairs in the dark and, black stairs, no lights, I missed a step! End result, me taking the next flight of stairs much faster than recommended and landing in a heap with a twisted ankle! See how it is after a nights sleep but this could banjax most of tomorrows plans.
Beer in hand, update done, it is time to sign off, enjoy the cold one, and get my head down.

Five hours sleep later and its time for breakfast. Quite an extensive continental spread, a couple of hot options, and pastries await.

In other news, I am hobbling this morning after last nights misadventure on the stairs. Light failed to come on again this morning so a fault of the sensor rather than a one off glitch. Taken a couple of ibuprofen and see if they will take the edge off however its definitely going to slow me down. My friend had suggested that we go to the open air museum this afternoon and I am hoping the ankle loosens up and eases off otherwise thats going to be difficult give that it is the largest open air museum in Europe!
First things first, time for breakfast.

A well earned beer later and we are waiting for an Uber to take us over to ASTRA

The driver is one of our colleagues who is driving for Uber at the weekends! What a small world, or a small city!
