I’m getting old for this stuff…but I will do it again. (EY & TK J)

Like a lot of other people we haven’t been travelling much the past couple of years. I’ve wanted to go back to the Maldives since our first time in 2016. So opportunity came up and I was able to book YTZ-YUL-ZRH-AUH-MLE on the outbound. Had a 5 day stopover to go skiing in Austria. Unfortunately I broke a bone in my foot a few weeks prior to departure. Yet we soldiered on…wife and son still needed to hit the slopes. BTW if anyone has good sites to book ski hotels in St Anton area I’m all ears. The traditional sites don’t get you good value.

Sorry no pics of the LX flight. It’s a pretty good airline but I hate the 5pm departure time. Can’t sleep, really.

After a few days in Austria, we headed back to ZRH. I have come across reviews of EY that weren’t too flattering. However I had a great flight. Pleasant service. Versus my typical AC flights where they make you feel like you’re doing them a favour flying on them, EY was refreshing. Also, after a week of schnitzels and wurst, I was ecstatic about getting food with spice. The chicken kabsa was one of the best meals I have ever had on a plane. And despite not being a dessert guy, the lava cake was delicious

I didn’t have a choice. Ms. Grandgourmand wasn’t going to be denied! Just kidding it wasn’t that bad. And I had extra time to plan the next trip.

I rented an apartment about 5 minutes uphill from the center with the free bus and about a 5 minute cab ride from train station. Hotels were crazy priced during the season....
