La Table du Marquis
In the evening we had dinner in the hotel restaurant.
I opted for the tasting menu. What came next was decidedly good, a truly enjoyable dinner. In Michelin, the restaurant has a plate, a star would not have been totally surprising now.

The most important post - part 1
I saw people in front of me looking at the ground and shortly after that I caught sight of the castle cat.
It was again a very friendly cat that let me pet it and then accompanied me to the meadow to take pictures. Only when the water sprinklers started, one moved away.

Breakfast Room Service
For the first morning we were told that we could not have our breakfast in the restaurant, but only room service would be available. Generally not bad at all, so we ordered.
Without question plentiful and the overall quality was fine. Only such an apricot should not be served as part of breakfast under any circumstances.

Nantes Cathedral
After breakfast we went to Nantes. As some of you may remember, some idiot thought it would be a good idea to set fire to the church (and kill a priest). Therefore, only a visit from the outside.

Château des ducs de Bretagne
Our first real stop was the castle of Nantes.
Inside there is quite an interesting exhibition about the history of Nantes, which does not leave out the slave trade and the Nazi period.

The tasting menu at La Table du Marquis may have tasted OK, but it’s impossible to tell what most of the dishes were.
A glass of iced water with a lemon slice balanced precariously on top?
Amuse-bouches that look like desserts (a piece of nougat, a soft glace cherry and a little pie with imitation caviar on top).
An empty oyster shell filled with crushed ice, sitting on top of some tousled greens.
Nice-looking bread and crafted butter, but what is that white wine doing in a red wine glass?
Mushy peas surrounded by what look like under-ripe strawberries.
Some kind of palate cleanser with a pea shoot sitting on top?
Something which could be large slices of candied peel or slices of blanched peppers, possibly with burrata underneath?
Presumably a piece of fish with various garnishes.
Cheeses that have been at room temperature too long, sprinkled with nuts and are those raisins?
A white cream cube of some kind, studded with more raisins?
Chocolate brownie? with chocolate tuiles on top and what could be pieces of bitter cherry on the tuiles.
What looks like two halves of a small goat’s cheese. Are these supposed to be petit-fours?
I always feel that if you can’t identify the ingredients on your plate from looking at them, then the visual dimension of the tasting experience is lacking something.

L'Atlantide 1874 - Maison Guého
In the evening we went to the restaurant L'Atlantide 1874 in Nantes. It has a Michelin star and is located right next to the Jules Vernes Museum.
The restaurant is modernly furnished, from the terrace and from the table you have a beautiful view.
After the amuse bouche
came the butter trolly.
The bread selection was also remarkable.
Second bite.
The menu was interesting and very tasty.
What must not be missing in any great French menu is the cheese.
The 2 desserts.
Petit fours
One last view
A highly recommended restaurant that I would visit again anytime.

Breakfast Buffet
The next 2 days we could try the breakfast buffet. For the size of the hotel very neat. What was noticeable was that some staff spoke only broken English and for example had little idea how to prepare the (qualitatively and from the selection excellent) tea.
Since the tea was so good we asked if it was possible to buy it. Yes, for 20,00 €. I entered the Internet address on the package and we drove by the store. There, the same amount cost around € 8,00 OK, we then bought half the store empty which made it quite expensive, but still the better choice.
