Great report. I lived in Houston as AA's Executive Platnum and I took IAH-DFW flights so many times. Your trip report brings back memories of my IAH-DFW days. I have moved out of Huston since but FlightMemory.com still lists IAH-DFW as my no.1 route on my top ten routes list.
The usual IAH-DFW route is below, flights make the left turn above Palestine, TX, and when the flight makes this left turn I always knew it was halfway to DFW. I did not have to look at the watch, or the flight map, I knew the progress of the flight because of this left turn. If first class FA is efficient, I could chug two drinks on IAH-DFW. On one of the IAH-DFW flights I took, I was finishing up my second drink, already descending toward DFW. As FA passed by I handed back an empty glass, and then FA asked me "Do you want another one?" I asked FA if I had time and she replied, "of course." I had a third drink on the IAH-DFW flight.
