Chile - A Disappointing Trip

Having lived in Chile for 5 years, I truly miss the food there. There are certain dishes, like the Pastel de Choclo, the Platanos con Miel de Palma, Hot Dog Completo, Empanadas de Pino, Chilean Churrasco, and the Congrio Colorado Frito which are unique and I dearly miss. The dishes are not fancily prepared, and might not impress at first sight but its freshness and taste is amazing. Seafood lovers will have a great time too with dozens of varieties of shell fish (which I don't like). All that combined with great Chilean wine makes Chilean food one of the best in the world for me.

What did I bring home last week from the trip? 2 bottles of aj. The one thing I can't stand is the quantity of mayo glooped on everything. They insist that you must want mayo even if you don't. One time very recently, I ordered my sandwich "tomate palta" - she verified I didn't want mayo, and I told here that's right. She brought mayo on the side anyway just in case.

Back to the original post, with reference to my earlier reply. In another thread, the original poster said:
"Recently on a trip to Chile, we rode an A- 320 within Chile. We were in coach and sat behind the wing, as FC or BC was not offered."

My further comment here is a WARNING to those who may be thinking about going to Chile. A "first class luxury vacation where the staff pampers you and whispers English sweet-nothings in your ear" shall never happen in Chile. The original poster here really only seemed to enjoy his luxury hotel at bargain prices. My "suspicions" as to what makes a good vacation for original poster were really confirmed by this other comment re: the A320. The need to address not just the issue re: a fishtailing plane, but the REASON that they weren't in F or J was only because the cabin wasn't offered (totally irrelevant to the point).
My overall point is one really needs to know oneself, and things about a destination prior to going. Its not that you won't be disappointed from time to time, but its much less likely.

We stayed at some first class hotels and took a luxurious week-long cruise while in Chile. Other than this, I will not dignify your ludicrous comments with a response.

As a frequent traveler who specializes in Latin American markets. Chile is my favorite place in South America. I would say quisiera or quiero is beside the point, but you should always use a por favor and gracias for good service. I find Chileans to be reserved at first, but I always get great service and helpful people. (In the interest of full disclosure,I am a pretty good Spanish speaker)
