Lufthansa Buisness LHR-OTP

Needed an afetrnoon departure to Bucharest and Lufthansa offered a connection thru Munich.

Took the HEX to heathrow and proceeded up to Terminal 2, check in at the dedicated star gold desk was easy no baggage to check, i always find the globe ground agents at heathrow quite surly and not particularly helpful. However took around 15 mins to clear security and I headed up to the Lufthansa lounge. Nice selection of drinks and biscuits along with a selection of pre packaged Cheese's.

Headed down to the gate for this A320 flight to Munich. Boarded to find the flight was only 50% full in either class. The flight attendents offered to hang my jacket and handed around both english and german newspapers and magazines. Flight took off on time and once at cruising altitude we were offered drinks from the bar followed by a cold meal consisting of a salad with cold meat and fish followed by some fruit puree with cold custard and then coffee and a further round of the drinks cart. The lfihgt was very uneventful. Arrived on time at muncih and was transported by bus to the terminal.

Headed for the Senetor Lounge and was welcomed by a very nice receptionist. The lounge is small but offers a excellent selection of drinks and some hot and cold snacks. I sat on a table next to the reception area and was actually amazed at one gentlemans attitude to the recptionist. The guy walked in handed his first class boarding card for the joberg flight, she welcomed him and he then asked if he could get a shower, the lady told him the shower was already in use but if he took a seat she would let him know when it was free, at this point he flung into a rage and told the lady how useless she was, how useless lufthansa was and was very nasty towards her. obviousely she could not tell him anything more as at the end of the day someone was already using the shower so i dont know what he expected to gain. Why do people act like this to service people when it is obvious they can not do anything more than she did. anyway i thought he was totally out of order stood up and told him that he was been very nasty and he owed the lounge host an appology, he back down and went to sit down however he didnt appologise!
The lounge host thanked me as i left and i went down into the terminal for my flight to romania.

This flight was 100% full in both classes again newspapers handed around and again as soon as we leveled off we were offered drinks and a hot dinner consitsing of salad with dressing, lamb medalions mash potato and veges followed by same dessert as heathrow flights, coffee and after dinner drinks. Landed at bucharest at 0020 and cleared customs and went to my hotel

Return Flight was again thru Munich and very uneventful

Not a very exciting trip report with the execption of the very rude man in Munich.

Have u ever flown on Tarom? I flew to Bucharest on Swissair and returned on Austrian and both flights were also 100% full. In fact later LX added a second daily flight from Zurich.

I forgot to ask. How is Bucharest now? I was there in 1991 and frankly it was a bit depressing. Even the restaurants did not serve good meals. What hotel did u stay at?
