My proposal in-flight
This is my first post on the FlyerTalk forums. Any feedback is welcome..

Thrusday, March 13
Ryan International Airlines
Flight 305, 0700 departure
FNT-LAS
A320 D-ALAB (leased from Aero Lloyd)
Seat: All over the plane....
I had been planning this for the longest time. I made so many calls, got certain things arranged and approved, then finally got our passes to go to LAS on Ryan. I called the night before to verify space available, and there was supposed to be PLENTY of room. In fact, they were blocking a whole row for us.. Well, things didn't exactly go as planned..
I woke up at about 250am on the 13th. I looked outside and the first words out of my mouth were "Oh ****". The snow was extremely heavy. So I called my girl, and told her I'd be picking her up early for our drive to FNT.. Well, I showered, got dressed, threw our bags in the trunk and went to pick her up. She was ready a few minutes after I got there, and we were off..
The drive to Flint was horrendus. The snow was so heavy, the roads so slick that I was worried we weren't gonna be able to get to FNT in time. Well, we DID get there in time, parked at the lot, and proceeded to the Ryan counter, where I was given a bit of unexpected news..
Funjet Vacations, who we fly the plane for from FNT, booked a huge group at the LAST MINUTE, and there was 1 (ONE) open seat on the plane. I had to jumpseat it (thank god I wore my uniform) in order to go. I helped the crew prepare the plane for departure, and went back to the terminal to fetch Audrey and get her on board. Once everyone was borded, we realized we had 2 open seats!!!!!!! Well, they were far apart, so I also was given permission to move ppl about the plane so Audrey and I could sit together.
This was Audrey's first flight in a Jet, so I was determined to make it as memorable as possible.. I worked it out so I could do the Safety Demo, had it recorded on camcorder, and took my jumpseat for takeoff. Once in flight, I proceeded to re-arrange some pax, and Audrey and I got to sit together. The Flight Attendants did the service, and once service was over, I went to the front of the plane to have a word with the Captain, just to verify how everything was going to go. Once that was done, I stepped out of the cockpit into the forward galley, assigned the F/A's their "parts" in the whole thing, (Linda was camera person, Cynthia made sure no one got in the way) and it was time..
I had Linda start taping, and I grabbed the PA and put everything into motion.
Me: "Attention passangers, will one Audrey K......... please come to the front of the plane." She got up, and walked to the front of the plane. I told her to stand at the galley enterance, and proceeded. "Ladies and Gentelmen, May I have your attention please. I know we are all on our way to LAs Vegas, for some fun, and warmth. HEck. It's going to be 80 degrees today!! But I have a surprise for this lovely lady, and for all of you." (At this point, I got down on my knee, and looked up into her eyes.) "Audrey, Life is like flying. You go a lot of places, see a lot of things, meet interesting people, and have a lot of experiences. However, flying can be lonely too. Since I met you, my life has been filled with nothing but joy and happiness, and I have not been lonely for 1 second. I love you Audrey, what do you say? Will you be my co-pilot through life?" I handed her the PA and she said "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The whole plane applauded, and I stood up and started reaching in my pockets. As I was doing that, the Captian came out of the cockpit, and presented Audrey with a gold necklace with an I love you heart pendant that I had picked up for her(She wants to help find a ring.. That's all good with me) . After she saw that, I pulled out another pair of wings (like the ones I wear) and pinned them to her shirt. She and I turned around to face the cabin, and EVERYONE had big grins on their faces.. I grabbed us a couple of pops and we sat down to watch the movie.. (Analyze That, starring Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro)
There was even a rumor going around the plane that I was gonna chicken out.. Yeah RIGHT.. LOL
Once we landed, we were the last to deplane, everyone was saying congrats and all ...
Well, in Las Vegas, we got to our hotel room at the Tropicana. The room was nice, tho the toilet did not work!! She and I went out for a bit, and they said it would be fixed by the time we got back. It wasn't. We took a shower, and the cold water cut out. We almost got burnt. She took a drink of water, and there was sand in it. Needless to say, I was not too thrilled. I went and talked to the manager, and they upgraded us, at no extra charge.
Once we got to the new room, Audrey was really tired. So, I let her sleep for a couple hours, and in that time, I had flowerd and a pizza delivered to the room. Also, a friend of mine who lives in Vegas called, and I set up a time to meet with her. I was glad, as she is moving back to Hawaii very soon, and I would not get to see her again for a long time.
After Audrey woke up, we went to Terrible's Club where my friend played percussion. It was really nice, and they even played a couple songs for Audrey and myself..
The next day, we went to the airport to come home, only to find out that our flight got booked up with more people, so we could not get on. We had to buy 2 last-minute Northwest tickets to get back. But, all in all, it was good, as I slept most of the way to DTW before our connection to FNT.
I have pictures and video, I am trying to get the vid put on my pc so I can upload it to a site for ppl to see. As soon as I have the pics scanned, they will be up too
Hope you enjoyed reading

Wow Chris, what a sweet story!
I wish Mr. CanuckFlyer had that kind of creativity. If I had waited for him to propose (never mind propose romantically!), I'd still be waiting.
I've been dropping hints that he should propose to RE-marry me on our 10th anniversary in May (ideally in Vegas) but I think if I want to get re-married I'll have to ask him. Again!
Thanks for the great story.

That's just a great story. I had a grin the whole way through. You even got down on one knee! (I didn't and I'm still hearing about it 3 years later). Welcome to Flyertalk.
