So I was curious to read the WSJ article mentioned in followup - with almost a year past, it is no longer in the WSJ db AFAI can tell. A quick google reveals a copy of it here:

Congratulations on surviving the trip and a big thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations with us in such an entertaining manner. It made me realise that I have had a relatively easy time travelling post 9/11 in comparison.

May your future travels be less taxing but provide you the chance to similarly entertain us all.
